Ronnie and I sent everyone off about 7:30 pm and then we ran up river towards the Chick dam. We fished about 2 hours throwing shakeys, jigs, and swim baits and we caught three short fish on shakeys. We finally started working our way back down river and added an assortment of spinner baits to our arsenal. But the blade bite just wasn't happening but neither was much of anything else! Ronnie finally got fish #1 a on a shakey. About an hour later at another spot he got our best fish that was right at 6 lbs. Over the next few hours we tried everything we could think of to the get that third fish. We even tried to catch a spot and couldn't. That was it for us. Only two fish! I never caught a keeper fish! Together we only caught five fish all night. The few bites we had were in about 10 -12 fow and all on the shakey. The water temp was around 84- 86 degrees and the current was cut way down around 8 - 9pm. Our two fish weighed 9.17 lbs. I think and our little single digit, two fish bag as the winning sack! Hope to see everyone up on the Chick at CFP on Friday night Aug. 2nd!
