I was just kidding about having the picnic at christmas since everyone couldn't make the dates suggested.

Picnics are for summer or warm weather, you have april, may and june before it gets miserably hot. Pick any saturday in those months and have it, don't wait untill there is snow on the ground at the end of the year to have it. Just set a date and stick to it.

Gotta agree with every word Doc said here.... Book it. They'll come or make the next one. Picnics ARE for warm weather. Hotter the better.... You will never make everyone happy everytime. So, we'll just have to have another before school starts or something. Let's get it going.... book it and plan it. I'll run a grill or cook, clean or whatever needs to be done. Fishinvol, quit hijacking threads man!!!!emoHijack

I don't see where anything was hijacked. My comments pertained to the fact that it's hotter than blue blazes here in August and the skeeters will be thick. emoGrouphug emoBeer, I put in my 2 cents about when I felt it was a good time to have the picnic.

I will vouch for it being super hot for both of the last picnics. I love to get together with you guys but it would be nice if it were more comfortable this year then it was last year. Either the spring or early fall is great by me. I am going to try and get some prizes donated for this and the longer I have the better.

I would like to also say that the picnic last year was in the hottest part of the year. These picnics aren't like birthdays, you can have more than one, there is no law that says you can't have but one, have 3 or 4 over the summer. I don't go to picnics for prizes, I go for the food and socializing, I could care less for the prizes. If a bunch of the members want to play music, let em get together at the picnic and have a picking and grinning, if someone wants to play horseshoes, drive the stakes and go for it. If you want to stretch out in the shade and take a nap, do it. If you want to gather up and tell fish tales, go for it. A picnic is wide open for everything. If you can't make a certain date, try to make the next one or the next one. If you need any help, call on me.

i aggree with doc 1, just pick a date and stick with it, those who can will come, those who can't will catch the next one. if we wait on everyone to aggree we will never have it. just my 2 cents worth
