I got out on the water Saturday at daybreak. Put in at Harrison Bay. Started at the riprap on Hwy. 58, no luck, moved out to a grass edge, no luck, moved up the lake to the nuke plant thinking there might be some schooling fish. I just wanted to catch something, anything so a stripe jump would have looked pretty good. Nothing, no surface activity. I started fishing a drop shop minnow bait in 20' of water and managed to catch a couple of catfish, nothing big - one about 4 lbs and another a little smaller. That didn't continue so I moved over to the bluff and fished for bluegill under a slip float after working the bank with a finesse worm and no bass. I caught 5 bluegill with 3 of them being nice hand sized ones. Thing got really slow and the waves from boat traffic were no fun so I moved back down the lake and managed to catch (2) small bass relating to wood cover on green pumpkin finesse worms. About 1:30 pm I saw the storm coming in and headed back to Harrison Bay along with everyone else on the lake. It was a rough ride. I managed to get the boat on the trailer and wiped down when the rain started. Water temp was 83 and it was hot, hot, hot. 9 fish total for the day - 2 bass, 2 cats, 5 bluegill. Fishing reports have just dried up except for a few CFF tournament reports (which used to be mandatory but I guess not anymore). Come on everyone, please post your results even if they aren't good. The heart and soul of the CFF is fishing reports. If your going to be in a tournament I understand not sharing to many specifics but it helps everyone if we know the water temp, were the fish active and maybe info like type of cover and general baits used.
