I finally got out for my first trip this year. With all the rain, raging currents, and finally the Covid19 situation it just didn't work out for a trip until Saturday. I was socially responsible and isolated myself on the boat in the middle of the lake! I fished from just after daylight until 2:15 pm. Water temps were 59 F first thing on the main channel and I saw as high as 65 back in shallow coves right before I left. It was such a nice day to be out, light winds, plenty of sunshine and pleasant air temps. The fish however were also practicing social distancing, I only manged to get 4 in the boat. Didn't have but a couple of hits that I missed so not many bites at all considering that I would have thought the spawn would have been on big time or at least a lot of buck bass setting up beds. I didn't see any sign of beds in shallow water. All my fish came in 6 feet to 12 feet of water depth. I managed (3) 2 to 2 1/2 lb fish and one slick. I fished rock, rip rap, spawning flats that had remnants of grass on them, the back of sloughs in one to three feet of water, and points in deeper water leading to spawning areas. Very disappointed in the bite, not sure if they haven't moved up yet or if they have already gone:-( I tried many different lures but caught all the fish on finesse soft plastics. I got cut off by some guys on a rocky bank. They (3 of them) were throwing a TN rig, and it looked like crank-baits. I had just started fishing the bank and they pulled right on top of me and cut me off fishing the same direction down the bank. Oh well, some people just don't know any better or don't care. I followed them and they caught nothing while I managed 3 of my 4 fish from waters they had beat to a froth! That was pretty fun watching them stare at me and dive into their boxes to change to soft plastics:) They still didn't catch anything.

Everyone stay safe and healthy, hopefully better times are ahead both socially and from my perspective fishing. Hopefully the monsoon days of rain are over and i really hope the majority of the spawn has gotten delayed due to all the water flow and level changes. It was strange to be fishing shallow coves with 60 plus degree water and not see any sign of beds.

Sounds like you fish a lot like I do . I enjoy being on water by myself , I find it relaxing. You didn't catch many fish but you had a good time . Good report man
