Higher taxes in a recession doesnt sound like a good plan for this average working American. How is this going to be funded? Make no mistake, its the first of many campain promises that will be broken. Its not gonna be the first lie that is intended to get you to give up some of your freedom in the name of change. Kick the lobbyist out of DC tort reform in medical malpractice. Line item veto and get out of our wallets and watch how this free market economy can run. The left is just as good at spinning what the right has done for 8yrs. A compromise and bipartizan solution is the only way to avoid a revolution of one side or the other. We have to work together and get government ruduced to allow the free market to work and to reduce the tax burden on the middle class. Im all for a hand to help folks up with but a handout not so much.

I work in dialysis, and I see medicaid at work every day. I see the people who come in for FREE dialysis, that do not care what the doctors tell them. They do not care about their own health or own well being. I have seen patients come in with a 44 oz Coke, even though they are not supposed to drink it. I have seen them get belligerent with the staff, cuss, throw stuff, you name it. Why should an alcoholic be next in line for liver? Why should we give dialysis to someone who won't follow DR's orders? I have no problem with working people getting help, but to help people that can help themselves, but won't, is crazy.

As for the Youtube links posted at the top, you can have it two ways.....Insurance telling you what procedure you can have, or the government telling you...looks like a lose / lose situation to me.

jon you are generalizing the whole group on Medicare. Some of those people are appreciative of the service they get with Medicare that they couldn't.t get otherwise.

OBTW those aren't free if you will look at the fed tax break down What I hate is the amount of money that is spent on people that are locked up. The law says we will maintain their health but the crying heart people say that is cruel. I have seen thousands of bucks spent on inmate that was injured in committing a crime and it wasn't life threating either but he received the injury from taking a life though.
What party do you blame this on. I blame it on no party but on the weak arse people that ain't got the stuff to stand up and say no. Republican or Dem. It doesn't mater. It says a government run by the people for the people.

I should have stated that I was not saying all. I have met some fine people just down on there luck. I have met some that just don't give a darn about themselves or anyone else. We have some inmates who come for dialysis, and we finally had to stop taking one because he was verbally abusive. I don't feel sorry for these people.

When I say free, I mean free to the patient....we are paying the bill.

Cheez's own words really ring true "I have no idea of how to do this properly. I am not the one who was elected and is getting paid to do it". That is the main reason your side is not getting paid to do it anymore. After all they had 8 years, 6 of those years with a majority in both houses of Congress with virtually nothing accomplished for the average working American. Make no mistake, thats why your side lost last Nov. ,and no longer have the privilege of directing our country. That right folks! No Ideas, No Plans, but all they have is Abortion Land, Socialist Land, Satan Land, and Hitler Land to try to divert us to. In this case I guess its okay for you to "be part of the problem" if you can't be "part of the solution" Either way, we really don't need your Ideas (even if you had some).

The reason nothing was done for the American people as you say which is mostly a lie is that the Republicans know that it is not the duty of the government to take from those that have and give to those who will not work. If it were not for the handouts and entitlements that make people lazy then they would find a way to stand on their own two feet without the government. Obummer and his crew will not be able to keep all the promises of a free ride. They will be pretty much finished by 2010.
I do have some ideas Danny. Go to work and stop asking working people to work for you. Let the country run with minimal government intervention.
I really don't care whether you need my ideas or opinions or not. As long as this forum is here and I can I will post them.
There really is nothing you can do about it either.

Bubba, this is what seperates us as the USA from all of the other two bit countries in the world, we are compassionate to anyone in need no matter what the circumstances they may be in. If you lived in some of the other countries you could lay beside the road and die while everyone passes you by. Sometimes you see some convicted killer being led from a courthouse with about 20 deputies guarding them and the killer has a bullet proof vest on to keep someone from killing them, we as the USA would be a lot better off by letting someone kill them then the country wouldn't have to spend thousands of dollars to keep them up for the rest of their lives but we won't let this happen. What is the answer from either side about this? Why don't they just let the killer escape and that would give all the deputies a chance to kill him, problem solved.

After he has been found guilty. The one I had in mind was Timothy McVey and his buddy who blew up a federal building.

Cheez I don't want to silence you or anyone else on this forum, even though you out post everyone on this forum at about a 4 to 1 clip. I, for one, refuse to see this Politics/Religion forum be hijacked and turned into your personal Obama bashing outlet. So I will point out that I do understand the basis an motivation for your ideas and opinions. You have made yourself very clear on that. I also understand that while those opinions and ideas fly pretty well down here in the Bible Belt, those same ideas, opinions and motivation, represent only a small, yet loud minority. So when this Healthcare debate is over, and we get whatever Bill we get. The President will go on to the next issue. And no matter what that is, we will get the same ole stuff again and again and again. But rest assured, I will call "Bull Crap" when I see it on here. ....or at least til they kick me off CFF.

I will totally agree on this. If they are found guilty just hand them over to the victim's family and walk away.

Well Danny if this forum would have been around during the Bush years you and the others would have been bashing him just as I am bashing obummer. I am on several other boards and I saw it for nearly the entire time Bush was in office. Now the table has turned and you liberal lovers don't like it when your man is on the hot seat. You really have no defense for the man and his accomplisses other than to attack the messenger from the other side. Give it your best shot brother. I have been attacked by some pros and am still here.
You are right that when this healthcare issue is past that I will be right here saying that your hero is bad and wrong and evil and any other negative adjective I can come up with. The reason why I do this is because he IS all of those things and more. I have actually been very nice to your president compared to many of the other things I read on other sites.
As far as being in a small minority from the bible belt well you are dead wrong there. Olbummer's approval rating is well below 50% and dropping in nearly every poll in the country. All this while his willing accoplisses in the media are pulling out every dirty, lying trick they can come up with to slow down the crash. The man is an inexperienced phony with a gift of speak. He fooled a lot of people into voting for him with his slick speech and huge bankroll. Now the American people want results and they are not getting it. You guys have ridden the "bad Bush" wave for a while but sooner or later the wave hits the beach. On that beach are people wanting their votes worth. These people are finding out what us in this small minority already knew.
OLBUMMER AIN"T ALL THAT.
The only time you call bull crap is when someone points out something negative about your messiah. There is plenty of bull to go around but you overlook the left side of the pile.
I'm sure I have more posts in this forum than anyone else. So what? Somebody has to be number one. I am only saying what the vast majority of the members on this board are thinking but not posting about for whatever reason. Everyday someone on here either sends me a pm of encouragement or even a link to material. Some days it takes me an hour to read the mail.
You Danny are in the minority and your number is shrinking daily. I pray that you will wake up from the dream before it is too late.

Where is the silent minority republicans? Have they all gone on a 4 year vacation? You elected them to represent you but they are silent, not doing a thing and won't. If they want things to be done their way, why don't they speak up and say this is an idea that I think will work? Obama is trying to help people get on their feet and get out of this recession/depression or whatever you want to call it, trying to get health care for the many millions in the USA and he is not getting any help from the republicans. Bush had 8 years in the white house and he didn't even try to get health care for the millions but he tried to start as many wars as he could and get thousands of our young men killed. Are we better off today because of these wars? Look at the debt that we have now, paying around a billion dollars a week in Iraq and Alfganistan.

Doc,

I know many are working on plans to assist in this effort... here is one of many articles that you can find on the subject.

http://usconservatives.about.com/b/2009/08/12/the-republican-health-care-reform-plan-hr-3218.htm

http://www.cbsnews.com/blogs/2009/06/17/politics/politicalhotsheet/entry5093897.shtml

Bprice I read the info in the two links you posted. So maybe there can be a discussion on healthcare without talking about Hitler, Satan, Socialism, and Abortion. There were two things that stood out to me. 1st: A $5000.00 per family Tax Credit to buy insurance that costs 13k to 15k per year plus a big deductible and all the co-pays. Those numbers don't add up. 2nd: Co-ops may be an alternative to a "Public Option", but they generally need a half-million participants to have enough buying power to be affordable. Who would set them up and manage them? The insurance companys? Several years ago I was employed by a "Start-up" comapany that did not provide coverage. My wife was self-employed. We got into a "Medical Savings" type of plan. This plan required us to put money into the account every month and purchase a high deductable ($5500) per year policy to cover possible major medical issues. This plan worked great for a while but the rates more than doubled within 18 months. We both were healthy, in our thirties with two healthy children. We were told that our rates doublng were due to there not being enough members in our co-op to keep the costs down, and we were in the largest co-op.

Explain to me exactly what the Republicans can do. Every time they sponsor a bill for anything Pelosi has it shot down in comittee. Every time a senator trys to accomplish anything Harry Reid has it shot down. Even whe the Republicans try to add ammendments no matter what they are for they either get shot down before they have a chance or they get voted down. The Republicans are not doing anything because they cannot. Watch some other news source besides the Communist News Network and you will see. The democrats have ALL the power so no matter what happens good or bad it will ALL be on them. I predict there will be very little good coming out of our beloved leaders for at least another year and a half.

You want to talk about the country's debt. That is a good topic. Olbummer has quadrupled the debt in 8 months. Bush had us in for about a trillion dollars but it took him 8 years. Olbummer has us in for nearly 4 trillion in his 8 months and he is screamiong for more.

During the campaign last year just about this time your new hero promised to have us out of Iraq by August 2009. Well August 2009 has come and gone and we are still there. We are still spending as much on the war as Bush did. Maybe more with the surge in Afghanistan.
How long are you folks going to ride the "bad Bush" wave? The wave is at the beach.

Blaming Bush anymore is a copout for the incompetance of this new group.

I reckon the only person that is truly glad the olbummer is in office is Jimmy Carter. When olbummer is finished Jimmy will no longer be at the top of the list of the worst presidents in history.

I truly believe that most if not all of the obamanation is disappointed in his performance. Pride will not let you admit it though.

Can't say I really blame you.

I have not "blamed" Bill for anything. I have pointed out that he is not the hero you and others claim he is. Matter of fact I never brought up his name until you did. So I throw the BS flag.

You guys are using Bush as a cloak to cover up the incompetance of your heros. In case you have not noticed it is not working anymore. Your hero and his accomplisses approval rating continues to fall. Even your own brethren in the democratic party are backing away from the extreme liberals.

Amen Cheez. The Atlanta area schools arent even letting the kids in school to listen to his speech today. (The speech by the way, is directed towards children).LOL

Okay "Bull Crap" flag again...... Cheez Quote #1 "I have not "blamed" Bill for anything. I have pointed out that he is not the hero you and others claim he is. Matter of fact I never brought up his name until you did". But just a few of posts before, you said this: Cheez Quote #2 "Clinton and his cronies are more responsible for the mess we are in right now than Bush is for sure".
You may need to go back and read your own posts again.
