Go to Benton Shooters Supply and look at the outrageous prices they are asking ...$60 bucks for a box of .22 shells that Academy sells for $18.99... It's so sad out how people are trying to make money off of this. Academy sports is the only honest gun store in this area. They had Pmags in last week... Limit 6 for $14.99 each.... Most Mom and pops are trying to get $40 to $100 bucks... Everyone needs to remember these money grubbers when this is over!

My son bought two guns at BSS and got good prices. Ammo is outrageous anywhere you go. I bought a bag of shot at BSS a few years ago for $14.95; last year at BSS it was $42.95. I remember getting .22 shells for about 65 cents for 50; gas was 35 cents a gallon.

Billy, in case you have not noticed I stopped doing the several page long reports. Since no one else does them anymore either and you can just about count on two hands the people who give informative bass fishing reports, I have cut way back as well. emoRolleyes The days of getting a drink and sitting down at the computer for a good two hour fishing read from me is gone. emoTskTsk Jmax

Dang it Jmax, can't agree that the thread was hijacked. IMO, stating that we disagree with your recommendation and discussing why is an appropriate post. I too have boycotted Dick's mainly because I believe they are making a statement that they are more concerned about losing spandex sales to the earth muffin crowd than they are supporting me as a hunter and fisherman. Personally, I am tired of the earth muffin crowd making it more restrictive and more expensive for me to pursue my hobbies.

Thanks for the post though. It has made the last couple of rainy days less boring.

Well, Jim, we all know why the bass fishermen don't post reports. $$$$$$$$$$$$$$$$s and greed. Very few willing to help people learn how to catch fish. It's a sad day in America. I hope that no one gets offended at my comments. I commend the few that are willing to help people. I still plan on posting reports every chance that I get. Most of my bass reports won't be too good 'cause I don't fish for them much. Hopefully, my crappie reports will not only be entertaining, but informative as well. I may even throw in a Striper or Walleye report every now and then. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

I believe that CFF is on life-support and may be terminal unless people get a life and lose an attitude. Several are now going to Facebook to report stuff. Not many, but a few. Fishing reports are the life blood of the forum, but there is so much acrimony among the many members that some are getting discouraged and have just quit posting period. We get offended at someone's post, either through misunderstanding or just plain stupidity. Witness the "Crappie Liar" thread a few weeks ago. It sounded like a bunch of playground kids arguing over a pail and shovel. When are the men and women on this forum going to grow up and begin treating each other with respect?

I'm not against good natured kidding each other either. I'm the biggest kidder on the forum. But the malicious ripping of one's character is out of line and shouldn't be allowed to be posted. As a word of encouragement to my friends who have stopped posting and I know many of the reasons why you all have stopped, please, you are not only missed on the forum, but your reports are so valuable to the continued success of CFF. I know that it takes effort to post a report after a hard day of fishing, but your reports are very much appreciated by me and other. I don't always respond to everyone's post, but I do read them. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

When I talked to the folks at Dick's, they told me the only reason they have no guns is due to everything being on backorder. They still are selling guns at the Gunbarell store and only took the assault style rifles down.
