i hit the water at 7pm this evening hoping to get a few hours on the water before dark. Headed down to an area Wiskers had shown me and started drop shotting. On 4-5 cast caught a pretty 2 pound smallmouth. On the next cast caught another one, a little smaller but still a pretty fish. After that it became the channel catfish show, as I caught 8 catfish, 2 spots, and a monster bream. All fish caught on drop shot.

Overall, I was disappointed in the catch before I read that Mike and Eric had been on the river and caught them all. emoBang

Headed back to the ramp before dark and that is when the real show began. First I waited 10 minutes while some idiots in a wake boat used the ramp as their personal dock. They finally moved and I tied up the boat to load the trailer into the water. As I pulled forward an idiot in an old Ranger came flying down through the parking lot and parked ON THE RAMP. The six of them got out, with nary a full set of teeth among them. They proceeded to load up the boat and prep it while two other boats waited in line as they were taking up two spots on the ramp. I finally got around them into the water and loaded my boat. As soon as the nitwit pulled the truck out of the water a second boat, a stratos backed down and did the same thing.

SERIOUSLY PEOPLE! LEARN HOW TO EXERCISE A LITTLE COMMON COURTESTY ON THE BOAT RAMP. THE RAMP IS A PUBLIC RAMP; NOT A PLACE TO EXHIBIT YOUR RUDENESS AND IGNORANCE FOR ALL TO SEE! PREP YOUR BOAT BEFORE YOU RUN UP AND BACK INTO THE WATER, AHEAD OF THOSE PRACTICING COMMON AND CORRECT RAMP ETIQUETTE!

Now I feel better.

I will admit, I caught them a little deeper than I have been. Was not sure if it was because there was not current and the wind seemed to move the boat upriver...
