The weather wasn't too bad rainy, breezy or cold for a change. I think we had 22 or 23 boats that went out of CFP around 7:05 am. There were a lot of boats on the water with a least three other Tx.'s going on yesterday. Ronnie and I made our first stop and fished about an hour and a half and never had a bump. Finally I got bit on a trap, set the hook and Ronnie grabbed the net! She was pulling a fighting and then she appeared but it was a about a 3 lb. Rock Fish! We kept chunking and winding and fishing the whole area but finally gave up and made a move. We threw traps, jerk baits, jigs, spinner baits, square bills, rigs and Silver Buddies. It must have been around 10:30 am when I finally boated a 5 lber. on a Silver Buddy. A little after 12 noon I got a another fish just under 4 lbs. We moved around to another area and kept grinding alternating different baits but to no avail. I was just about to make another move when I felt something. I was thinking that my Silver Buddy was hung up but I did lean back on the rod and somehow got a hook into the fish. It was a 4 lber. I immediately cast back into the same sot and hooked another fish but it pulled off. A few minutes later Ronnie set the hook on a fish and it came unbuttoned. We never got another bite. Our three fish weighed in at 12.25 lbs. I think it was and we finished fourth. The five Bass bites we had all were on a Silver Buddy from about 6 - 12 fow. Congrats to Mike and Jeff on the win with 16 lbs. plus and the BF over 7 lbs.
