I've never been accused of being politically correct so I'm with Doc. Went boatless for a few years, bought another in '04 and my wife and I were amazed at how things had changed for the worse. That's why I usually fish upriver.... it can happen there but not as often.

Some days you're the pigeon, some days you're the statue.

I don't mean to emoHijack this thread, cause I don't like it when jerks pull in on you while a hot bite is going on either, but if everyone could be a little more tolerant of these idiots.....

An example of what I do when I make a 15 minute run with the intentions of fishing a particular spot only to find someone either fishing that spot or one very close by is what I did last week with Jimbow. We made a run up river to a community bluff spot near the nuke plant to fish one very small spot and there was a young man in a boat about 40 yards away up the bluff, but his boat was pointed in the direction of the place that I wanted to fish. He appeared to be bass fishing, so I idlyed up to his boat and asked him if he was bass fishing. His reply was yes. I asked him if it would be alright to fish this particular spot just below him for Crappie. I don't like to and will never pull in on someone who is in close proximity to where I want to fish without asking if it is ok. He was very cordial and said yes, go ahead. So we then trolled back to the spot and began the bluff fishing lesson. If he had said that it wasn't alright for me to fish it, then I would have gone elsewhere. But that's just me.

Don't do what a friend of mine did up below Watts Bar dam a few years ago. He was striper fishing and only 1 turbine was running and he was on the boil, catching fish. Another boat moved in on him while he was fighting a striper and started fishing. He told them to get out of the hole. Words were exchanged that seemed to indicate that an a** whupping was in the making. So, my friend just rams the side of their boat, almost came over the top of their boat. They got the message and left. He later had to appear in court to face charges. We shouldn't let our emotions get us into trouble like that.

Sorry for the emoHijack emoHijack emoBigsmile emoGeezer

Thanks DK. Thats all im talkin about at the heart of the issue. I raised the question to see what remarks I would get. It seems it was a pretty hot topic. I like to think I have a pretty good tolerance of idiots myself. I do as you do. If someone is on a spot I wanted to fish, I usually go elsewhere, but If I just had to fish that spot I would be polite and say hey and ask. Just seems lately that the behavior in question has been more frequent. Perhaps this forum and the communication that it breeds will help bring the problem to more peoples attention and we can all have a better experience on the water. Now lets all join hands and sing a chorus of Kum-Ba-Ya

I just carry a paintball gun with me you will see how fast they move when there pretty red boat has blue spots all over it j/k actually it is pretty annoying to have some one do that hey you all could go out before meet and greet and anyone that did that take a pic a show it there ( wonder who would have pictures of each other ) lol

Take the "Close-up"pic. Post it and lie like the dickens. Is it wrong to take a photo ofa pretty boat on a public waterway and say howwell you got to see that "Pretty Boat"? emoAngel Hee-hee

I believe you have something there LL, we could have a "Pretty Boat" section, nothing bad would have to be said.

The bass fishermen from lower end of the lake are real good with disgracefull act. No common courtesy ,maybe they are just dumb as rocks.
