Evenrude etc overheats at high idle only

Hey guys, my 2006 etc will over heat at high idle and the temp light comes on. It has done this with the guy I bought it from the whole time he had it. At idle or wot its great with no problem, does anyone have a clue what it may be? When it does overheat you let it idle 5-10 seconds and it is good to go then
