This is a good thread... Many days I sit here and work on the CPU at home and watch the morning VS fishing line up... RIGHT NOW Dahlberg is on some obscure river and catching monster fish on a topwater lure that is about as big as my forearm. HE CAUGHT A SMALL alligator/croc!!!! Then he got his buddy out IN THE WATER to go jump on its head so they could get the lure back!!!! It was small, only about 4ft long. But hilarious as I read this thread!!!! He is SERIOUS about his fishing. But I guess when you are in a river in the middle of a rain forest, you can't run up to SW or Wally's to get another bait.emoLaugh emoLaugh emoLaugh
I can see one of us sitting in the boat, saying, "Hey man... I need to get that bait back. I'll hold the fish from here with the rod, you get IN the water and jump on his back and hold his head down so we can get it out...."

I've always liked Bill Dance, and love his hat emoBigsmile , but his shows are to promotional oriented now.

There's several that I like but, to pick just one, I'd have to go with BPS. I have their first series on dvd also and still enjoy watching it. Very informative.

We had a thread like this about 1 year ago. I won't say the same thing about Bill Dance as I did last year. I nearly got killed by a lot of folks. I like him as a person. He is funny even if some of those stunts are staged. It is a shame that he doesn't take all those products that he is pushing and fish a real lake instead of private ponds with monster bass that nobody else can fish. I suspect that he would have different results if he did. He is a good fisherman though and very entertaining.

My favorite fishing show is The Angling Edge because the Lindner boys fish for every species of fish and every type of water. They give great how-to techniques. I always come away from one of those shows with ideas that I can apply to our fishing lakes. Since I am not married to bass fishing anymore, I really appreciate a show that devotes a lot of time to crappie, bluegill, catfishing, walleyes, pike, as well as bass.

The In-Fisherman show is a lot like The Angling Edge. I suppose it is because Al and Ron Lindner used to either own In-fisherman or were very important to it. I don't know why the Lindner's left In-Fisherman but they left shortly after Dan Sura either got fired or quit. Now Dan Sura does some shows on the Angling Edge. I don't know if there is a connection there or not.

I watch most of the fishing shows when I have time. I would like to make some short videos of dock shooting techniques, bluff fishing stuff and other technique related material. If I could do it without giving away somebody's "secret" hole, I would do it. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

You guys need to check out another Chattanooga native that guides and does a show out of Key West...Tom Rowland. The show " Saltwater Adventures " airs on Versus. Great guy, great show...give it a look.

Here's a really good read I ran into awhile back on the Angling Edge website, I'm sure some of you have seen it ...under the "Inspirational" heading on their site:
