Fishing the Chick with child

I plan to take a buddy of mine 7yr old son fishing this Saturday. He has fished very little and never from a boat so I'm taking him in hopes of catching some fish in general. Does anyone have any pointers or know of any bream beds where I could get him on some fish? I just want him to be able to catch some fish, really any kind but prefer not to mess with cats. Thanks for any help!

we have had good luck in Ware Branch just north of the Nuclear plant

The slough just north of the nuclear plant on the west side has always been loaded with a good variety of fish. Just past the little boat launch.
