I guess some of you have noticed I have not posted the first fishing report all year......their is a good reason for that fact.
I moved from TN to GA January 1st and had to change my registration of course. Little did I know what was in store! When I moved, I found that my TN Registration card had gotten wet and was illegible, so I tossed it..........bad idea! If you do not have this card to turn into GA you have to jump through all kind of hoops and red tape to get a previously registered boat from another state registered in Ga. Even though I had the paperwork from where I registered it at the courthouse, GA would accept nothing but the TN ID, with several other documents including a Bill of Sale. After about two months of going back and forth about what I had and what I needed the gave me a temporary registration number that I could use on the water. Only problem was that it is only good in GA, TN will not recognize a GA temporary registration. Since I did not have one I had to take my boat to an inspection station conducted by the Ga Wildlife Resource officers; which by the way is scheduled at different counties throughout Ga on different weekends for two specific hours of the day. If you don't want to pull your boat several hundred miles you have to wait for the inspection to be held at a county near yours, which I don't think they ever have one in Catoosa County. After I waited for three weeks and drove to the nearest inspection in Calhoun, had my inspection completed, it took about two weeks to receive my official GA registration sticker, here it is April.....
Now, I still can't "legally" haul it to the lake because I now have to contact the Police department to send someone out and have my trailer inspected so I can go get a GA tag for my trailer! If you ever move from another state to GA with a boat, be prepared!
Maybe I will eventually get to go fishing this summer, I am getting closer......................
