On the health issue,

"In the USA, it is estimated that nearly 220,000 men who have sex with men were living with HIV/AIDS in 2006, and nearly 5,000 had died. Around 48% of men diagnosed with HIV or
AIDS in America in 2006 were probably exposed to the virus through male-to-male sexual contact."

We would never accept, well the women wouldn't, men and women showering together at the same time in the service. The problems and likely scandels could keep the military in a turmoil. Is it ok for gay men to shower with straight men? Is it all right ? Would you want too ? He might get an uncontrollable crush on you.

And what if the commanding gay officer finds you attractive ? He could really make life hard on you should you refuse his advances. Think that won't happen. Do you want yourself, or your children, to be subjected to this kind of pressure?

Willeven saying the "G" word get you a court martial in the near future ?

How many that don't see anything wrong with them serving openly have been in the armed forces, or have kids that are serving ?

It is a free country, but free countries have to have laws to exists. Laws should protect the innocent and support society's best interest. Gays already live openly and freely in our country. Now they want to openly hold hands in our military. emoVomit
