Grass (Conspiracy)??

So if I'm reading these Notices right, there should be no reason they are spraying more than 150ft from any dock/ramp or wherever this notice is posted? And if so they are doing illegally? And Who is paying for them to spray around the ramps such as Chester Frost, Dayton, and other TWRA ramps?

It's simply agree to disagree, the grass is a mess every year. It hinders my and others style of fishing . It clogs up passage channels, docks , mats all the way out to deeper water nobody thinks about the pleasure boaters either . It's all of our lake to use , whether I'm yak fishing or out with my boys wakeboarding . I'm on the water every weekend in one or the other of my boats . I'll either be in a camo green Jackson yak or a lime green and black wake setter please feel free to stop and talk I'm a pretty pleasant dude !

The grass we have now is one of the only reasons you might catch any bass regardless of your style of fishing! It is obvious you were not around when ALL the aquatic grass was eliminated for years and this lake became known as "Sickamauga" & "The Dead Sea". It is not a "mess". It is the building block for the whole ecosystem that creates quality fishing! I remember the years when a "good" YEAR was when you could catch 5 bass over 5#. Now if you don't catch 5 over 5# in a day you couldn't win a tournament!! It's all about habitat...for the bait, for the fry, for the adult sportfish, that create a fishery. Take that away, and we're back to the dead sea days! And, as far as mats go. Only for a very short period in the fall, when TVA drops the lake, are there any mats on top deeper than 6 ft, and then its of benefit to pleasure boaters. If you see grass, you're venturing into water too shallow to run your boat!

Just an FYI I'm old enough to remember having to push the that nasty milfoil to reach a good spot to fish . Then the lake was sprayed or pelleted or whatever method they used to kill it , it was gone after that . My dad or myself didn't have a problem catching fish with no grass of any kind . In fact we caught better fish because the area that the minnows were using were more confined to a few spots . So if you want to quote something I say make sure you have a valid point , the lake as far I have known has never been called "sickamauga" . I will say this , the lake was used mainly by locals and every boat ramp you went to wasn't filled with out of towners that could care less about our area other than the fishing . So with that being said , come and talk to me on the water like adults . I have included both of my boat descriptions and like I said I'm pretty personable . When this meeting that IS going to take place happens I would expect for all the people on here "TROLLING" peoples comments will be there . HAVE A GOOD DAY AND TIGHT LINES to ya !

Sounds like some locals are mad out of towners take their parking spots. If I lived up there id be happy with all of the out of town money going into the local economy. I guess their pockets arent seeing the extra revenue and their parking spots are being taken sad sad.

Plenty of grass around island cove as of last night.

The meeting will be held at Friday august the 11th at Ruth Chris in Chattanooga at 7pm. I have contacted the manager and they will be expecting a large crowd. Please pass the word for me. We may for once be able to eliminate this nuisance once and for all.

HA you kill the grass you kill Harrison soddy and Dayton. Im convinced you are a troll bec killing the local economy doesn't seem to phase you. Think of all the out of state $$ twra makes just from the fisherman. Id bet money more ppl use that lake bec of its fishery than pleasure boaters. I wouldn't pay to fish there per year if it wasn't as good as it is. Id go to a ga lake for 7$ a year.

Obviously Todd's comment shows the intent. To rid the lake of all vegetation. I'm sure he's on the moneymaking end of this, just as Troy was back when. They are using chelated copper and Diquat. I took this picture this morning at CFP. I was down river past the curves and counted 12 dead catfish among the most disgusting mess of crud you've ever seen floating down the river. Guess where they like to hang out? In the grass. Still think it's the weather?

Awesome Todd9433 I can't wait to see everyone ,I don't care if we have to empty out the entire country club to get this past "paid for" ! Slabdog the chemicals that are being used are completely harmless to fish and other aquatic animals !!! If you have seen such said fish floating by then I assume you do have pictures to back what you have said you seen .

Cry me a river bub. Your own words, "In fact, we caught better fish because the area that the minnows were using were more confined to a few spots".

A few spots he says, imagine a few hundred boats from all over Chickamauga lake sitting on a "few" spots where the minnows are confined. It would look like an LA freeway parking lot during the rush hour. Oh, and as for the meeting at the most expensive steak house in this town,
I wonder what kind of kick back the manager is willing to pay the organizer for maybe filling up his place of business with elitist yuppie millennial types who are trying to push their leftest agenda down the rest of our throats.

Bill

I hope the state is going to pay for a TWRA officers dinner tab to attend. Very few of us can afford to set foot in that place. Very well done Todd.
Evidently public waters are not meant for everyone anymore. Just the people with money to make it their own personal kiddie pool. I'm gonna shut up now before I say something we're all thinking.

What's your real name Todd? Because there is no one under you name in any of the surrounding counties that have lake property on the chick.

My thoughts exactly. I can't afford to even go into that steak house much less sit through a rediculously over priced meal and listen to all the rich people who think this lake should only be for tourism like the rest of Chattanooga. You all need to get real. The grass is what made this a great fishery and that same grass is what brought countless big tournaments to the city of Dayton. (They were the only ones smart enough to capitalize on the opportunity). That in itself is far more important than a bunch of preppies that don't know enough about boat navigation wanting to eradicate that precious resource!!!

It will be nothing more than a fundraiser for arrogant financial pricks to try to figure out the right person to pay off so they can have their way.

Id be willing to bet this Todd has really yanked some chains with some of you and is really enjoying the show he has created. Id be willing to also bet he doesn't live on the chick and actually Alabama.

What silly comments. "Meet at Ruth Chris... empty the country club"... good grief... I bet they will drive their Benz to the meeting as well. What a load of BS by these trolls.

Well, if the plan was to clear the bass fishermen for a day he should've said Golden Corral lol. The only way I'd be at Ruth Chris would be if I had a hefty gift card!!!
