The CBA built the weigh-in building at Chester Frost so now they cannot use it ! Send Coppinger the bill! He lives in Valleybrook!

Dr Detroit

Good luck getting anything from Coppinger. We've had a very large chunk of concrete mostly blocking a street drain for over three years with no one from the County removing it (Hidden Harbor). Also, before he was Mayor we got nowhere with getting speed bumps with him as our representative on a residential street people fly down.

Remember, you don't need ANY practical work experience to become a politician - and it shows for many of them in all levels of government!

He is just doing his job and the decision was made over his head, in the Mayor's office based on the direction of the health department who was alerted to the situation by the Channel 9 news story.

LOL!!! just doing his job, violating the right of the people to peacefully assemble..............

so the CBA met with the director of parks and rec for Hamilton Co. last night. The guy was super nice, unlike Rusty described. He is just doing his job and the decision was made over his head, in the Mayor's office based on the direction of the health department who was alerted to the situation by the Channel 9 news story. Here's the facts I know;

There were not 400 people in the tournament
There was about 75 boats
There was a ton of other spectators and other boaters out doing what they do on Saturday's around here
A local fisherman who doesnt like out of state tournaments blew the whistle
The local news media (CH. 9) blew this out of proportion to get a "Gotcha" on Hamilton Co. and the tournament fishermen
calling the Mayor's office or the director of parks and rec will only make things worse at this point

CBA will go on as scheduled out of Grasshopper, and we will be doing our "corona" protocols. Be looking for announcements from the officers real soon about details.

Being one the of the people involved in the tournament Saturday Justin is 100% correct, there was little over 200 people there and other than the top 5 photo everyone did a decent job staying away from each other. Most of you mouthing off here were not there and know nothing other than what you saw on the news and just want to stir shit so get off your high horse. These are high school kids that just wanted to finish their year and thanks to one of your TN fisherman this is all a mess now, not some kids from GA. The news was contacted by one of your own, they did not bother to mention anything about the other 400 to 500 people gathered in the park, piled on the play areas and picnic tables but why would they bother reporting the entire story.

Derek you know my position is about govt infringing on the rights of the people, from GA or TN doesnt matter to me. Im trying to get the elected officials to see things differently and stop messing with us.

How about telling GA tournaments to have their tournaments on GA lakes. They came up here and didn't follow guide lines and now Tennessee people pay price.

Billy I live in Georgia, that has nothing to do with it, My boat is registered in TN, since i fish there the most. Also, i use to live in Hixson. Come down and fish some Georgia water's. That was a lame comment since I and everyone else out of state, pay a licence fee for fishing in Tennessee.

Let's not forget a special thanks to Steve Kite for being so butthurt about other tournaments besides the one he chooses to participate in. Also, I was there with a relative, and people did a good job of social distancing. The reporter from Channel 9 tried to bait the students with one-sided questions, including telling them "they should not be here". A group of them told him where he could go and it pissed his sissy butt off. If you are a local fisherman, please do not give the media the luxury of an interview, as the few I have seen only made things worse.

Recent studies are showing that sunlight kills the virus, and if I am not mistaken we had bluebird skies. https://www.ndtv.com/world-news/sunlight-destroys-coronavirus-quickly-say-us-scientists-2217319

The county, under the direction of the incompetent Coppinger, is showing to be as bad as Kissing Berke. Taxpayers have a right to be pissed off, especially when you see the other people at the ramp and their actions.

The local news media (CH. 9) blew this out of proportion to get a "Gotcha" on Hamilton Co. and the tournament fishermen - Yes they did. Reporter was butthurt over how he was treated over his one-sided questions.

Bronzeback what exactly is lame about my comment about Georgia tournaments coming here to Hamilton county facilities holding tournaments and either not abiding by guide lines or pissing off tv reporters and we the individual fishermen may pay for it. Not saying you as an individual fishermen shouldn't fish lake in Tennessee. You are not a tournament entity you are a individual . Just like I don't think it would be right for all of us in Tennessee to go down to and hold a tournament on Georgia waters and have same thing happen . Just an opinion not trying to condemn anyone but we all need to be careful when we hold tournaments anywhere so we don't give people in government reason to cut tournaments off completely. And for the comment someone else made about how sunlight kills virus wouldn't put alot of stock in that considered it is going through alot of countries in desert areas and southwest where there's lots of sunshine and heat doesn't seem to faze it.

This was a prime example of Fake news. The reporter Isaiah Kim-Martinez is from Miami Florida not a close to being a local. I agree that the NWGHSAA could have done a better job on conducting the tournament. It was the first one that was allowed since things are opening back up. Many of the boys had on face mask from Medical style to handkerchiefs. News Channel 9 failed to mention a lot of the things that were done right by the directors who are all volunteers that did the best they could to put on a safe tournament. The crew had several young men that refused to give interviews because they were able to see where the interview was going.

The right thing that should have been done was to have official giving recommendations for upcoming tournaments. As everyone hear know these tournaments start at safelight they had registration and check in for this event starting at 5:00am many of the volunteers were at the ramp at 4:00 am. This organization is makes big differences in the lives of the boys and the adults that help mentor. While the organization may have came up short it was a learning experience for everyone involved.

Most of the high schools that fished this are closer to this lake than any other lake around geographically sorry it’s across a state line. Would you rather them go to Lanier so you can run the risk of 13-18 year olds having a much greater chance of drowning due to high boater traffic or maybe carters lake where they possibly are enough space for 40-50 boats. I’m sure the area around cashed in on those 400-500 people from Friday through Saturday whether it be via food or purchasing fishing supplies fishing license etc. as stated could they have done better; likely but should someone have reported them and then whine about causing them to not possibly fish other tournaments, no. What about today because too many people were there on the beach and now he is saying he will shut down the park if they can’t do better. Start pointing fingers and now it’s under a microscope and the news will beat it it to death

Next thing you know the government will be shutting down businesses,,,,, shut boat ramps and parks ,,,,no wait,,, they already did . What is the next right they take from us.

Billy, I'm about done with tournaments in general, I use to be a big contributor on the CFF, I met a lot of my friends on here, even your partner Steven, we met by chance @ CFP , when his boat slid off trailer. He knew I went through a lot with my father and his mother even offered help. I only wished people would just stop acting like they are and mind their own dang business..

Leonard you were the one who elected to take a comment made in general personal that's on you . As far as fishing tournaments I think we are all done now.

If you live in Walker and Catoosa and consider yourself a resident of Chattanooga then its not okay to fishing tournaments on Tennessee waters in Hamilton county but if you live in Meigs or Rhea county its okay...Huh?

I've read this and started to comment a time or two. Guys it doesn't matter what state your from. We all live in the United States of America. Just sitting back and watching this can you not see how the government and the media are turning us against each other. Something to think about!

Anybody got knights number I live in Georgia And was gona see if I could get permission to fish Sunday Ha ha
