Help Support Chattanooga Fishing Forum:

Over in SW Missouri, The white river shorelines are owned by the Army Corp Of Engineers. A good friend of mine on Table Rock told me today- "There are No tournaments over here, The Corp pulled all permits a long time ago and will not issue Any". So we should feel sorta lucky we have the smaller ramps however, this is going to Really overcrowd them and intensify the issue. The local gov and media, need to be reasonable and at least limit the size of event permits allowing the smaller orgs a shot at having their events. . These GA HS events have been a real problem over crowding the park anyway. I can see the frustration with that. It happens several time per year. Yes, they should go to Lanier! More accidents will probably occur anywhere they go -like the 3 dead on Pickwick- so sad. The sport is growing too rapidly with the addition of HS and now, Junior leagues!? FLW and such promote this all in the name of big sponsorship and money putting human safety and fish species on the back burner. But with the latter aside, we need to contact gov reps about being reasonable and sensible with permits. One more thing... Doesn't make any sense that the gov's office would get involved in this... didn't they just reopen the state parks and ramps? So it would have to do with the size of CFP.? H Co. shouldn't be giving out 100 boat permits anyway. There's no room and parking for this. It blocks out the general public and small tournaments anyway. IMO

Here’s some species at risk info 214 fish weighed in 3 dead that say a lot for a bunch of high school kids iv seen more dead fish floating after a 20 boat dogfight so there evidently being taught how to take care of fish as for safety There’s no comparison to 84 high school boats compared to all the pleasure boaters and idiots that go buy a boat and no nothing about driving it you cannot fish past 11 on weekends to dangerous Anyway give these kids a break some of them are seniors and didn’t even get to finish there senior year out at school this was there first tournament since pandemic hit I think they did good job for bunch of kids could have been a lot worse

You know at some point we might want to stop feeling sorry for everyone who doesn't live here and wants to come here and have their big tournaments and classics . If we keep letting this happen not only do we run the risk of giving tournaments a black eye and not be able to have them but we aren't going to have any fish left . At that point the people who live here are going to have to drive 50 to 100 miles to fish when they had one of the best lakes in the country right in our back yards . No body I think has any resentment to these high school kids fishing , God knows I wish we had it when I was in school , but we can't support everybody and their brothers tournament on our home waters.
