For the most part, R14 has just slapped the face of most of us.[/b]

And I, for one, am willing to express my displeasure with it.

Look for every hard working born-here (not native, cause the native americans are on reservations), I can find you 3 mediocre workers and 7 more slackers.

So please tell us, which one of those are you? the slacker or the mediocre? There is absolutely no evidence to support your claim other than what you've observed in yourself.

He's a troll guys. If you say nay he will say yea and visa versa.
No R14 I will not answer anything you have to say on this because you will not even use a real name on your profile.

And now R14, because I expressed my displeasure with your assertion that for the most part Americans are NOT hard-working, your response is to question whether I am lazy???

I will admit that I can only trace MY ancestors back 3 or 4 generations, and that they were NOT Revolutionary war generals, but were instead only lowly dairy farmers on a small family farm. They did, however, LEGALLY enter the United States, followed the laws, became American citizens, paid their taxes, and fought overseas for their new country. There IS a difference between legal and illegal aliens and what rights they have - and should have. If they enter illegally, or remain here illegally, then they do not - and should not - have the rights that are enjoyed by those who are here legally.

Back to your suggestion that I might be lazy because I expressed displeasure at your statement about most Americans, I will gladly post my resume for you to judge: schooling, work history (as employee and as employer), accomplishments, goals, community service, and national and local service organization memberships.

I'll even throw in a few hundred FISHING REPORTS that I have made here to help others learn more. Might even find some posts by folks that I have taken out so they could learn some of what I have learned.

All you have to do is the same thing. Up for the challenge? Just say the word...

oh so your saying the typical American worker isn't lazy. Well maybe we can just agree on disagreeing because every place that I have worked at (wood mill, rubber stamp maker, candy company, pizza tosser, furniture manufacture), there as been at least equal number of lazy people as hard workers. Things might have change in the past 10 years since I have had any of those jobs, but I highly doubt it. Heck I know it is true at my last office job.

I'll stick to my assumptions that the average American is not what I consider a hard worker.

A few things I've learned since I've been a manager.

1) the 20/80 rule is true. The 20/80 rule is, 20% of your employees will take up 80% of your time. I've a feeling R14 is in that 20% that whines and complains about coworkers which leads to #2

2) those that complain about coworkers are usually trying to make up for their own deficiencies in the workplace. In other words, the only way you can make yourself look good is to try and make others look bad. This also explains why you've had so many jobs.

Timbo, that is funny. I believe you are correct in your 1 and 2 but neither apply to me (thankfully). I have been in one positions for 9 years and recently took a transfer to get back to East TN. Most all of those jobs were during college; some jobs I had to give up as my class schedule changed every semester and of course summer break.

So R14....tell us just which country it is that you consider to be SUPERIOR to the USA. Which country has came as ...and as fast as the USA? Which one has become a super power of the world in the time that we have? And if you hate "the system" here as it is....then why do you live here? I agree there are some scumsucking people here in the country...but I do not beleive they make up the majority!!!

Wade I think what he is saying is that people that break our laws every day and don't even bother to assimilate are much better than those of us that are legal residents and contribute our tax dollars to the bottom line. I have no problems with immigrants I just have to wonder why this batch can't come to our country and assimilate successfully. Why should our culture change to accomodate them? What makes them better than the Poles or the Italians, or the Germans or the Irish? Why are they more proud of what comes before the hyphen than what comes after?

A while back I had an interesting conversation with a coworker of Hispanic origins (legal) about this subject. He had a great idea to halt the constant flow of illegals coming across the border that I never would have thought of. He said that somehow, the government needs to find a way to prohibit anyone in the U.S. from physically sending money to Mexico. Most Illegals leave families in Mexico, come here to work for a few years, send 90% of their income back home, and then return. Contrary to what most people think (including me until he told me), the majority of illegals don't come here with the intention to stay. He said that this is one of the biggest reasons that most Mexican immigrants don't learn English. So basically, stopping the flow of money = stopping illegals from coming here. He said that most Mexicans that come here to stay go through the proper channels to make sure they do it the right way. I found out through this conversation and a few others, that if you want to talk to someone who really wants to stop illegal immigration, talk to a legal Mexican immigrant...

To stop money from leaving the USA and going south, quit selling ,money orders, this is the medium of exchange that south of the border residents use to send money back home and they are good forever and are accepted anywhere.

PS...I see R14 is no longer with us, must have retired.
