Talk to me about trailer tires for my 20` Bullet......I had a flat yesterday on my way home from Douglas and am wondering about what type to replace them with... someone suggessted that I get a 8-ply tire ...
I remember multi- ply tires before radials and they usually meant a really stiff hard ride.
Since it doesn`t take much of bump to get the frame bumpers to get to banging on the axle I`m afraid to put too stiff of a tire since it probably accounts for about 50% of the suspension.....
The tire are the same ones that came on the trailer and are right at 13 years old and look to be your basic standard radials...still got plenty of tread on them
I took them off and to the local tire store to replace them last year and the guy said he would sell me some new ones but there didn`t appear to be anything wrong with them..... so I took `em home and put `em back on...I guess I was just nervous about 12 year old tires. We make several trips a year 60-80 miles one-way fishing our club tx`s and the last thing I want is someone pulling up to me in the middle of 4-5 lanes of interstate traffic in west Knoxville telling me my tire is going down....which is what happened yesterday. tire had a small cut in the inside edge and I don`t know where that happened either...
just curious if I should just replace them with your basic tire or is there some heavier duty ones out there that won`t be too stiff...
