The appointment of the new justice got me looking at the the others that could possibly "need to" retire in the next say 4 to 8 years. You have Gensberg who is battling cancer 76. Kennedy is 73. Breyer is 71. Stevens is 89. Scalia is 73. It would be interesting to see how these positions are filled under the Obama administration. That would be five justices that could be replaced not including the appointment of Sotomeyor. So six justice's could be appointed by Obama. I recon you could get alot of change with that.

The framework for our government to control our every action is already strong. Those appointments, if made, could be huge in determining what we can and cannot do.

The possibily is the same if there was a Republican in office but,... the dems are not gonna let this opportunity slip by especially if the presidents numbers at the end of his first term look like he wont win a second election. Or if they dont have a deadlock replacement after O's second term.
