The Cleveland Daily Banner had so little for it's Sunday Sports section that it interviewed me and ran an article today to fill space. First time I've been interviewed without doing something really bad first! Actually, it was really nice of them and they wrote up a terrific article (if you don't know me). They were, of course, really interested in the story of the 84 lb blue cat that I caught last week. They gave me a shot at doing some bragging, which of course I jumped at. Somehow, I forgot to mention going into the water a couple of times recently - an honest mistake! Trust me! Really!
This was kind of nice - I halfway expected that the next time I was mentioned in the paper it would be in the obits or jail dockets!
Don't know if this will work, but here's the link to the story: http://www.clevelandbanner.com/NF/omf/daily_banner/sports_story.html?rkey=0065229+cr=gdn

OOPS, been there, done that, been there, done that, been there and am STAYING this time! I finally got a good one (defined as one who can stand me).

Congrats EM. You must have some great spots that are consistent. I am planning to try to find some areas that will hold bigger fish down here on the lower end of Chickamauga so that I can put some of the HS kids that my son has as friends on some bigger fish. I have a spot or two that usually has 5-12 lbers but the big boys just don't seem to be there.

Congrats!!!emoThumbsup

Hey Fat Albert,

I also liked the falling in the water stories better myself, and if......

EricM keeps hooking up with 80+ pound catfish on 130 lbs. line, he will hit the water again and have a story or two to tell!!emoLaugh

He may have a slip or two or a misshap, but I wont be shocked if a 100+ lbs. cat jerks him out of the boat!!

My only advice here Eric is this......

If jerked out of the boat by a monster catfish, forget the records, and LET GO OF THE ROD!!emoPoke

Congrats again, quite a list of fishing awards!!emoToast

Well, poo! Hadn't thought of lettin' the rod go! I do, however, wonder if you can ski behind one of those big ones? Just in case, I'm now using 80 lb mono on my big cat rig, trying for a different line class. I guess I'll have to use the rest of my 130 mono on my grass string trimmer.emoEek emoLaugh
