Jmax, did you tell the manager/owner what you just told the cff community? I'm sure the guy paying the bills would be willing to make a few changes if it meant he kept his restaurant open so he/she could feed their family. As for paying for a burger goes, I make the best burgers for the same price... in my opinion

Karl, are you a owner of a burger location? Here is your chance to plug your place. emoAngel Plus I would love to try your place out.

I thought about saying something but felt it might just be me. Like I said in the post, there was a lot of good stuff going on. Size for that price to me was the issue and the killer. They were very busy and I did not want to come across like a trouble maker. I will check to see if they have a web sight and if they do I will send my comment in for what good it may do. Portions to me were just too small. Maybe I shoud take smaller bites. emoHungry Jmax

I'm all about portions, but I understand not wanting to be the "trouble maker". We had a place close by me where the food was awesome, but I got up hungry.....didn't want to complain. They are now out of business and I'm thinking a few more pinto beans and taters would not cost much and you could have kept your business....and they were not cheap!

i tried the green pond grocery burger since i heard they were great.price wasn't bad.(7 bucks and some change.)burger was just so so.i wouldn't trade one of the burgers from the little beer place in red bank for 20 of those.(sorry cant never think of their name)first and last time.

You mean Merve's Yeah it's good

we tried it also and were very disappointed, there is nothing southern about those burgers. very small burgers that weren't very good and overpriced as well. go to kevin browns burgers for the best burger in the area.

if you are ever down in Alabama around Scottsboro their is to places that are hard to beat shorty machums and pikevill store I can speak for both you will not leave hungry and they have the best food around if you want a good bbq sand go to tates in Scottsboro they have the best around but that is just my 2 cents

Wiggles, I found the web site and sent in my comments and concerns. Doubt it does any good but we will see. Even on their web page they show those little burgers. emoDoh Over priced and small portions. The actual issue may be that their targeted customer is not the likes of us. emoZipped Jmax

More precisely Jim.....not the likes of you. :)

emoLaugh I am not the only one on here that likes a big burger. emoLaugh Jmax

That's a start Jim, have you heard back from them yet? America is super fat, it doesn't surprise me that a new restaraunt would practice portion control in this day and time. No I don't own a burger joint but sounds like that's the business to be in. And remember snobs like burgers too, just much smaller than me and you like ours!

Now here is a subject I know something about. Burgers!
If you want a burger downtown try Tubby's but the place isn't fancy at all. Also Nikki's is close to Tubbys and good too. Tubbys located at 710 Cherokee blvd. prices are cheap too. Just my 2 cents.

Boy's next time your in SP stop buy and get one of them Pirate burgers, you can get fries, coke, burger for around 7 bucks. You want leave hungry also you might learn something from all the ole farts that hang out in there. Aint much to look at and probabaly not a good place to take your wife out for your Annversary but ole Harvy ain't been in buisness for 40 years on his looks. Breakfast is as good as it gets there if you like an attery plugging good southern spread and only around $6. It's probably took 10 years off my life but If I'm going to eat a burger I want my moneys worth. For a bonus if you keep your ears perked you might get to hear one of them ole famous fish tales from the river.

Haven't had a Harvey burger in years, but they used to be great. Also, at that time, the best meat and three period. I have not had anything close in 15 years......

As I thought I have never received a reply. The sight asked for my phone number and e-mail. But here it is a while later and no one ever bothered to get back in touch with me. I did not think they would since what I said is true and their whole burger is built around that small size. Like so many of the newer burger joints, they promote a smaller meal and add the word gourmet on there with the price still high. Like I said, they are not looking to a guy like me for their normal customer. emoRolleyes

For around here close by I am heading back to Kevin Browns, they have the best one around here for the price and size. I will add that the HBSP Cafe' has a decent burger also. It is a little higher in price but I have never had a bad one there. Coming in off the lake after fishing makes them taste better also. emoAngel Jmax

I have had Southern Burger Co burgers twice once in there downtown location (Manufactures row) and the one in Ooltewah. The burger has good flavor due to the bread. Its kind of a sweet type of bread. But I will not be going back way to expensive and would rather drive down to Treamont on hixson pike. If I am going to stay near the house I will go down to Holders Grocery or Ken's Burgers Plus. But I will have to try the Shake Shack that everyone is recommending.

Gator's right - Tubby's is great! Used to live in Red Bank and loved it. Now I feel I need to take a drive for lunch...

I wasted $24 for the wife and I a few weeks ago. Forget portion size, if your product sucks, it doesnt matter how big the burger is for the price.
