Nichols Outboard and Nichols Marine

[Paul Nichols]

I've had several people ask the question over the years if me (Nichols Outboard) and Nichols Marine (in Red Bank) were the same company or if we were affiliated. The answer to this question is no we are not the same company and no we have never been the same company nor have we been affiliated in any way. My dad (John Nichols) started Nichols Marine in 1975 and then sold his half of the business to Carter Schoolfield in 1993, Carter just kept the ''Nichols'' name and at this time neither me or my dad were or have been affiliated with Nichols Marine.
I worked for Bullet Boats at the factory for several years and then went on to work for Yamaha Outboards. After leaving Yamaha Outboards I started Nichols Outboard in Soddy Daisy in 2003. We rebuild outboard motors, do machine work on the outboard blocks and do some general maintenance on outboards when we have time.
I just wanted to make a post to clear things up and try to make sure people knew we were two completely different establishments .

If a person wanted you to do a service: impellor, plugs, foot oil etc. Is this something you would entertain? and if so, how would a person make an appointment?

They take care of mine. Dale does a great job and Paul will shoot straight with you. I have never had a bad experience with Nichols Outboard.
