wow, there is a lot of commentary here...

we all have different thoughts on tournament fishing and I personally want to fish against the best there are on that body of water. It does not matter to me if it is a guide or an elite pro. If I get out fished or out worked then they deserve to win. Off limits IMO does not even the playing field, it actually gives the ones that spend the days on the water an advantage since they will have more historical knowledge to pull from. maybe a solution is make a trail that is free (or very cheap)for the weekend warriors that want to fish against the other weekend warriors and another one for those of us that want to fish against the "sticks" of the area?

I don't live in the area, but I still want to come up and compete against the locals, guides, open series anglers, CBA anglers, whomever signs up. I would love to fish against Wheeler, Strader, Morgan, Neal, and Jocumsen in every tournament on the lakes of the area.

Well come to think of it this was a low entry fee tournament for local guys that got cherry picked for business endeavors. Competition is not an issue considering wheeler does fish this tournament at least once or twice a year and the other guys who fish it are some of the best winter time fishermen in the area. Like I said before if this only happened once or twice wouldn't have been that big a deal but this was happening every weekend last year and people were stating to complain . I guess looking back we should have just said the hell with it and just told those people complaining to go f**k themselves . Those people complaining weren't going to win anything anyway they were just there to sweeten the pot for the big sticks. What were they thinking complaining about guides coming over and bringing their clients over and whipping them , they should have been out there all week like the guides every day learning the lake and timing the fish. Oh wait a minute most of those people complaining were at work all week just like the guides only problem was their job wasn't fishing all week . Sometimes it's ok to throw the average Joe a bone every once and a while those guys may never win a little dogfight tournament, little loan a big tournament , they show up every week to compete and feel like they are appreciated too. Competition in big money events should be stiff and I venture to say the cba fifteen or twenty years ago might have been tougher to win than a bass elite event. That being said a thirty dollar dog fight should not be where a couple of the local guides bring their clients to beat up on lesser competion to make a buck. The main guides who have been doing this for many years have never even offered to do this and my hat if off to them for not making this an issue in the past.
