In the spirit of trying to post more fishing reports, here's how my day went:
Got a late start but put in at Suck Creek boat ramp at 8:00 and spent the day fishing between Williams Island and the Pot House. I was was pleasantly surprised with the current flow today. Averaged 48K all day. Murky water 81-84 surface temps. Ended up with 9 boated fish and missed more than I caught. Best luck was on finesse baits - Senkos and ribbon tail worms. Color didn't seem to matter. Green pumpkin Senkos w chartreuse tails to purple ribbon tails. Biggest was only a 2 but several one pounders. All caught in 10 - 15 fow in brush or rocks close to deep water.
As for the near misses, I got several "blow ups" early in the grass on a frog, a few "rolls" on a whopper plopper on the upstream side of Williams Island, missed one on a chatterbait at grass edge. That pearl deep diving crank produced nothing for me this trip.
Went to school again today and had a great time.
