And the winer is....Nissan.

I got in a fender bender yesterday morning at the top of the ridge cut. Below is a pic of my truck (needs a tailgate, bumper, and left light assembly) and the truck that hit me (need a truck, was not his fault I might add). My tailgate still opens and closes fine and my tail lights still work. Unreal.

Same thing happened to me about 3 years ago. I was renting an Xterra for the weekend and was in that 12 car pile up on 75 ( big sheet of black ice). I was ok and had not been hit, so i pulled over to the left ( next to the wall) and all the sudden a car smashes into the back of me. It put a decent dent in my bumper, but completely destroyed the dudes front end. His engine was actually laying on the ground. that right there sold me on Nissan, now I own a Pathfinder and couldn't be happier.

dont want to start anything here but if that guy takes his hook off an gets his brother in law to jump up an down on it an get some duct tape an tape him some more head lights in that thing,as far as it keeping on rolliing i would put my money on the chevy.just look at the age of that thing it probably has at least 300 thou on it now.an any way it was designed to fold up like that to protect the opcupants.dont you watch nascar...lol...an listen like i said i aint trying to start a war,i am a FORD man...just taking up for the chevy... emoUSA

I was raised a Chevy man and had Chevy trucks until I bought a Colorado. Bigging POS truck ever made. Switch to Nissan and gotta say best truck I have even owned. Doubt I will ever go back to domestic unless they really improve on their quality, fit and finish AND lower their prices to match their trucks.

And Nissan is actually more "domestic" than Chevy. My wife's Maxima was manufactured in Tennessee. Go figure.

i know i will catch alot of grief, but if 2 were side by side,an i had the money to buy either,i would probably choose the nice-un,they are tough.i know a guy in x roads that got 350 thousand miles out of a yota.so i would not have a problem with the so called foreign models.emoUSA

About three months ago someone hit me in the rear end in rossville. Barely bent my bumper but it totaled his car. I have an 04 ranger.

That nissan my take hit better than a 30 year old truck, now thats bragging, how many miles to the gallon do you get on that nissan, I would say about 13 to 15 miles to th gallon, i drive my 05 f150 fx4 4 door 80 miles an hour and get 15.8 miles to the gallon, i would almost say the nissan driving that fast would only get about 11 miles to the gallon, if its a titan. emoEnforce

WOW! Mike, it looks like you were lucky one of those ladders didn't come loose and go through your rear window.

The Nissans were "assembled" in TN from parts that are imported, which makes up about 20% of the mfg. I saw a story on the news(for what it's worth) that said Ford led the amount of US mfgr percentage with 82%, Chevy/GM at 78% Chrysler at 54% Toyota and Nissan about tied at 20% and Kia notta! My Chevy is still towing strong at 192K, may not be the best, but God bless America. Now I did hear Ford is coming out with a heated tailgate! So your hands won't got cold when you push them. emoUSA

DTW2. i have a nissan titan 2 w drive get 17 around town and 21 on the interstate with 92,000 miles on it. However i do use synthetic oil. the worst gas mileage i ever got was 16 and i towed a boat several times that tank of gas. The V8 nissan engine in a 2w drive gets pretty good mpg.

I have a 98 Nissan Frontier that is the best truck that I have ever owned, has 212,000 miles on it and would be towing my boat to the ramp this morning if I could get that Merc out of the shop. emoBigsmile emoGeezer

I have owned several Nissans. The Nissan truck I now have has 200,000 miles on it and runs like a top. The one I sold (wish I had not) was a 1986 Nissan with over 350,000 miles on it. It broke down 3 times in the entire time I owned it. I sold it to a guy that has a construction company and he tells me he drives it to jobs every day and hasn't had a bit of trouble from it.

I get around 21 mph all around driving. I get about 14-15 pulling my 20 foot Triton. This is with 265 HP.

Be careful what you read about "US mfg percentage". Companies say domestic production when they talk about parts producted in Mexico/Canada as well. Pretty much if is does not take a boat ride then it is domestic.

Yeah, I'm sure that's true. It's always risky repeating what you read or see on the news. I just try to support US made products whenever I can, it's almost impossible anymore.

mrwiskers for one i didn't see thats it's a kids truck, i drive a mans truck, and if you buy a titan 4x4 you will only get the milege i stated. but to each his own, I almost bought a titan two years ago, sounded mean and closet truck ride for comfort that i could find close to how a ford rides, all others is trip on a wagon. but they wouldn't deal down $500 dollars, after gas went up was kind of glad i didn't get it, but any truck is better than a chev.

2006 TOYOTA TUNDRA 4X4 ACCESS CAB 18 HWY 16 CITY. Ive had fords and nissans, the nissans weren't bad, but this Toyota is an awsome truck. This is the 2nd one Ive owned. First one was a 2000 Tundra simular modle to th 06. Assembled in America. emoUSA emoThumbsup emoThumbsup
