It comes as no surprise that the Affordable Care Act that we all have been effected by in one way or another is again having major price increases for 2017. Just saw where they announced that there will be a increase in costs of an average of 16.6% for individual and in some cases as low as 8% for Family plans. emoBang It was just last year they were saying it would probably go down as more people came on board. As usual, more lies. emoDoh I have been saying from it's conception that the affordable care act was a joke. There is nothing affordable about it. It was intended to help low income families get the help they needed for medical care. In fact the same families it was suppose to help have not been able to afford it and the administration has admitted this flaw. They just don't make enough to pay for it and still have enough to pay their everyday bills. Then the folks who were forced to buy into it that lost their policies that they had before all this crap happened have been forced to pay higher premiums and deductibles. Then some just went without opting to pay the tax...ah...I mean penalty for not having insurance. emoMad

Premiums too high, deductibles too high, coverage sucks, you never actually get much out of it unless you have a major claim and even then you could go broke trying to use it. You know when the government says it is a great program but all government agencies are not going to participate, that is a problem. emoHoppingmad I can guarantee you that if the same government people who are stuffing this down the American people's throats had to use it the policies and outcome of how good it actually was would be far better. Over the years I have seen any time "The government" say don't do as I do but do as I say. That is a pure sign the topic in which they are talking is going to screw you. emoCrazy

I still believe this whole thing is going to self implode but when I have no idea. As more insurers bail on participating the chances of it happening sooner increases. If Hillary gets into the White House it will be probably four more years of it but even with her the Affordable Care Act is going to have to be modified if it has any chance of surviving. We have had eight years of this crap, time to try something else. emoBadLanguage Jmax

While we really won't know what happens until open enrollment, my insurance person has been told BCBS is asking for a 52% premium increase. America gets what America votes for. I just don't understand how Obama won TWICE..!!!

How the bummer won twice? Easy answer - cheating at the polls. As for bomma care, it is right on track. The plan is coming to fruition just as planned. It was never meant to succeed. The planned failure is supposed to lead us to a single payer system. That is all that will be left when bomma care fails. UNLESS someone else wins the election and gives all states the ability to opt out of bomma care and revert back to the EXACT coverage that existed prior to bomma care.

Insurance companies have the best archives on the planet (I know what I am talking about. I worked for a large insurer). They keep every little bit of information and can retrieve it in a couple of hours. This means they can immediately reinstate coverage just exactly like what existed prior to bomma care. Now, we all know billery is not gonna permit that, but The Trumpster will. Anyone voting for billery is a damned fool.

Well, I misquoted the amount of increase requested by BCBS. The request was for 62% which was approved. Here is what Lamar Alexander said:</p>

U.S. Sen. Lamar Alexander, R-Tenn., the chairman of the Senate health committee, said the increases prove that ObamaCare is not working. Alexander said the record increases under the program for 2017 are "only the most recent proof that Obamacare is spiraling out of control.</p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 12px 25px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: 21.6px"><span style="font-size: 14.4px; line-height: 21.6px">"How can anyone continue to defend this law while they watch it wreak havoc on family budgets, stealing money hardworking Tennesseans had set aside to buy a home or send their child to college but will now have to spend on their skyrocketing premiums?" Alexander asked.</span></p><p style="box-sizing: border-box; margin: 12px 25px; padding: 0px; border: 0px; font-variant-numeric: inherit; font-stretch: inherit; line-height: 21.6px"><span style="font-size: 14.4px; line-height: 21.6px" /><span style="font-size: 14.4px; line-height: 21.6px">So why was the increase approved if he really feels that way?</span></p>
