It's not ridiculous when you have been as terrible as we have. There is not a single game I can look back to and say well Dooley did beat who? Kentucky once? vanderbilt? ncstate or cincinatti?
I like the guy and have supported him, but he has just not done a good job plain and simple. It is clear he does not have what it takes to win big games.
As the head coach of a football team your responsible for your players and their play and I would be all for him if he had ever beaten a ranked opponent or pulled out a big game in the fourth quarter.

ok guys, I'm NO Vol fan but I will say I have noticed some improvement. Well defensively anyway. TN has been a good first half team this year but I think they still lack some depth. Look at the top teams in the conference. They have starting quality players two to three deep. They can always keep fresh athletes in the game. Yes they got beat by SC but that game to me was the best so far for the Vols. They finally showed some attitude and didnt just roll over for the Gamecocks. I say well done.

it want happen guys. he is happy were he is. tenn has only had 53 scolorship that will hurt any program this year they will get 86 that will make a big diff next year. but tenn fans yall are in a rebuid mod it will take years for the program to do well it will get there but i will have to say this as long as saban is at bama they are going to be the power house for the SEC and the BCS . emoLaugh

Well, the only thing that I have to say about Dooley is that UT gave him some BBs and a slingshot and told him to go bear hunting and beat Alabama, Florida, Georgia, LSU, South Carolina and do it in 3 years or less or else. Dooley may not be the coach for UT long term, but fans that wanted him fired after the first year suck and are a big reason that recruiting isn't any better. Learn to shut your mouth and support your team until Dooley has a chance to fill out a complete class or go support Vandy.

My opinion, he probably isn't the coach that UT needs, but you don't hear me running him and the program down. emoGeezer

I like Dooley as a person. I think he has integrity. But, I didn't think he was the best man for the job when he was hired. They rushed to hire a coach to save the recruiting class. Something smells on Rocky Top. Dooley had 7 coaches leave after last season and take jobs else where. Most of the job changes were lateral moves and not promotions. Dooley's hiring of the DC was not smart. We had a 4-3 defense last year and he hires a coach that runs a 3-4 defense. We don't have the type of players we need to run that defense. I do think it is a great defense, just look at Alabama's defense. That being said, if I was Dooley with the record he had the last two years. I would have looked for someone to coach the type of defense we had. Changing defenses when you have a loosing record and it is your 3rd year is not smart. Our offense is playing good enough to win the big games but our defense cant stop anybody. The good teams that play us are having record games against our defense. Dooley's record before he came to Knoxville was not impressive either. UT should have taken their time and hired a better person for the job. I have been a Big Orange fan since a was a small child and the last few years makes me sick. I know it takes time to recover from the mess he walked into but there should be a vast improvement in 3 years and there isn't. Just waiting is just wasting time.

Our defense couldnt stop the Lady Vols from scoring. This is the worst excuse for a defense I have ever seen. I am sorry but there is no excuse for keeping Dooley or his DC. Pat Summit could do a better job coaching football. The bad thing is we have a really good offense. I would be ashamed if I played defense for the Vols.

While I don't disagree with you, I am afraid that it has turned into an economic issue. I don't see how we could keep DD. The fans have voiced their opinions with empty seats.
