I feel cheap posting this, but that's what this forum is for. If you are interested in the Outdoor Channel on Dish, email me.

I used to get the Outdoor channel on C-band(big dish) up until last year. I enjoyed it. There were tons of fishing shows even though many of them were about fishing northern species that aren't as helpful living here. I did enjoy it however. I still have a big dish but I think that it would be good to have that option. Can you buy any channels a la carte on little dish? It looks like you can get it on dish network but you may have to buy a special package. It's listed on this dishnetwork website: http://www.dishnetwork.com/content/programming/sports_overview/index.shtml

No ala carte on Dish...I have a heck of a time convincing die-hard C-Band fans to switch. It usually takes a lightning strike on their 4D to do the trick. Years ago, Dish offered OLN, Speedvision, and The Outdoor Channel as an add-on for 4.99. Now they come packaged with AT180.

I have the dish network and just added the Outdoor Channel for $1.99 a month. (a la carte)

So far there is a lot of hunting programs. Dish Network also has the "Men's Channel" and 90% is all hunting. "Men's channel" comes with the basic package of $31.99.

JerDog, the a la carte that polodog is referring to is the ability to subscribe to individual channels without the requirement of a base package. With Dish, you have to subscribe to one of their core packages or pay a $5 access fee. On C-Band, the customer can pick and choose channels to create their own package.

Monday Night Fishing is pretty good on the Outdoor Channel. I watched Iaconnelli get his cocky little butt kicked by Rojas on last night's Ultimate Matchup.

After searching their site I finally got an e-mail address for comcast here in Chattanooga. I mailed them and asked why we couldn't get The Outdoor Channel and got a b.s. response that it wasn't available in our area. I mailed back that their response was not satisfactory and that it certainly was available on dish. Now suddenly they say that some comcast systems carry it and they're forwarding my request to the Chattanooga area marketing dept. Maybe if we keep the pressure up they'll add it in. If anybody's interested in applying some pressure to them you can mail them at [email protected] (yes, they misspell Chattanooga in their address) , then maybe all of us can enjoy some outdoors programming on a regular basis!
