Can anyone provide any fishing reports/advice on panfish or spotted bass near the Hwy. 64 ramps or Kings Slough ? I know it is hot, but I can stand it IF I am catching, AND the fish gotta eat . I'm not asking for someone's secrets or specific places but Depth of Water and Time of Day to fish is a good start. Suggestions on Bait/lures/riggings to catch a few bluegill, redear, perch, catfish or bass (any size) are appreciated. THANKS !

Ive had luck lately at kings slough. Morning to mid afternoon fishing with a fly rod with a brown or green popper. Also had luck with a silver crank bait 5ft diver, 4.5in purple worm (plow jockey) and live red worms for panfish

Hello Longshadow. I was surprised to receive your reply. It seems like there is little activity on this CFF site. You may have noticed, and I find that to be disappointing. Do you fish into the later afternoons at all ? I've never launched out of King's slough and am curious as to whether you stay in the slough or go out in the main lake, and what depth of water you are fishing. The ramps on the north side give access to fairly deep water and I've marked some signals at 14 to 18 feet but haven't caught much over there. It is shielded from any wind from the NE or NW. Thanks, JG

I have stayed in the slough and and ventured out and towards the camp. It is pretty deep here roughly 24 till you get to the mouth then drops to the 40's. Ive had the best luck in the coves fishing the banks work out to the deep. I do fish afternoon ls often but mostly mornings. And to be honest my luck is the same throughout the day. I am on a 11.5 fishing yak padle only so i cant get very far.

I am using an oar-powered inflatable boat so don't go very far, either. I also have an intex kayak but prefer the raft.
I find my eagle depth finder to be invaluable. It shows me a lotta fish that won't bite, but fortunately, some that will !
R U new to Cleveland ? If U R real accurate with your fly rod I can suggest areas with overhanging trees which might be good for you.
(And ME too - after reading your report, I am considering putting MY fly rod back together)
I've stayed away from K. Slough due to the possibility of vandalism. If I did park there, I'd try to get out before dark.
Any feedback on this subject from anybody would be appreciated.

Not new to cleveland. Ive lived in charleston for quite a while. So i fished the Hiawassee mainly, bit moved to the ocoee area so i have taken appon myself to learn parksville. I have seen some broke windows at KS. But fortunately have not been a victim. Wouldnt fish there after dark. If im going for cats im fishing at mouse creek or skull island.

Hello again and thanks for the invite. I just now read your reply. How was your Friday fishing ? I got out at the Bear Branch ramp and did well.
R U into catch and release or other ?
ME - Other.
I am closest to the Hiwassee at Charleston and would fish it more if not for the current.
It gets worse during the drawdown, as I'm sure you know.
I've only fished Ocoee #1 (Parksville) a few times. It has good size bluegill and redear, and, of course, the Alabama Bass.
The info I hear is that it fishes a lot better in the winter time.
