We fished from about noon to 3. Only caught 2 smallies, 1 largemouth, 1 spot, 1 white bass, and 1 drum. Here is the biggest smallie. Reckon how much it weighed? I got a real good idea.

OK, this should do it.

Thats a pretty fish, Here's a close-up of one caught a few months ago, quite a color difference , does habitat have much to do with color in smallmouth or is it genetic?

OK, we did not have any scales, but it was 22.5 inches long with a 15 inch girth. According to the math and the famous formula it comes out to about 6.3 lbs. Why and I both new it was over 6, but we weren't sure how much.

CherokeeRidge, this fish was much darker when I first caught it. I put it in the live well for about 10 minutes to regain my composure. It was amazing at how it changed colors so quickly. I new I was going to turn it loose, but I thought about trying to find someone out there with some scales. Why reminded me of the formula to get the weight if we knew the length and girth, so that is what I did.
