I picked up a rig rod from Joe on Saturday as well. I love it. Can’t wait to take it to the lake.

Well I got a Joe Burns Rig rod and it looks nice. Cannot talk about performance yet but the appearance is really nice. Several people commented about the rod and its feel and construction and all were impressed. Cannot wait to try it out, thanks Joe the help today.

So where can I get some of these Joe Burns rods? I’ve heard of guys buying his stuff before, but not sure how to obtain them? Website or Facebook page?

Veritas has a 7'9 schooling rod that is perfect. Loads up nice and easy. I dropped down to a cranking reel 5.4:1 last year and have not regretted it. I get a lot more cast in, by not being worn out at the end of the day.

Ha. Didn’t realize you were on this thread. I mention you in a comment on page 2 and your Veritas.

Thank you for the info, man. I’ll give him a call.

I love my 7' 9" Veritos 2.0 heavy, its has a slightly softer tip with large guide and it was made for the rig, I know lots of people prefer a slower gear ratio, but not me. I like to be able to change speed of retrieval for get a reaction bite and speed up retrieval on in current and or structure to keep from hanging up. The key on any rod of choice, is to make sure its not super stiff on the tip. That's where it will wear you out throwing it all day.
