We joked in the beginning about not having rain gear, and was assured no rain in forecast. Anyway, we headed north from cfp hoping for a quick limit of schooling bass. They were gone, but didn’t take long before catching some fish on shakeyhead. The theme of the night was swinging and missing or throwing hooks. We both caught and missed several fish there. 2 keepers were landed there on Shakeyhead and small swimbait. Decided to head south for our planned night spot. Only issue is, we sat down right in the middle of the storm path. We were hammered. Found a covered dock and hunkered down until the lightening passes. About an 1.5 hr delay. Headed back out to our night spot and missed several on spinnerbaits and large worm. After the storm, the bite pretty much died for us. Mike boated our 3rd keeper very late. The fish bites were very weird, kept hitting tail end of worm or swimming with bait(like during spawn). Finished with 7.27# I think, very tough and wet night.
