Baby, it's cold out there. Wasn't sure we were fishing in April or February. Ice in the guides, level wind, line roller. Mike an I spent some time out Friday, the fish were shallow, 0-4 fow. Started Saturday with a plan to run some flats looking for spawners. Caught the first short fish, 14", within 15 minutes or so. Kept working down a bank, and Mike boats a 15 1/2" keeper. Went through the bank, and did second pass, had a few more boats fishing the same spot the second time. No more fish. Ran to Harrison bay, same deal, working shallow flats. Maybe a bite or two, no fish. Plan "C",fish places we found fish last year with the water coming up. First spot, nothing.1 o'clock or so ran to the dam working deeper water, no more flats. I caught a small keeper spot, two in the box. ten, fifteen minutes later, Mike boats a fat spot. Was big fish spot, 2.47#. Out of time, run back to CFP, fished five minutes more, unsuccessfully, and trailered. Caught fish on a shakey head w/Zoom finesse worm, senko and jig with w grub trailer. Tried crankbait, topwater, mini jig. Not working today.
