Wife was working, dinner is later this week. So I went fishing.
Launched at Riverpark, current was ripping, 3 mph on GPS. First stop was a place out of the current,4-6 fow, with cover. Tried crank, spinnerbait , no takers. Next was downriver, at current breaks, no takers again. Went past downtown and fished between there and Moccasin bend. Caught one keeper largemouth and four legal spots, plus throwbacks. Fished 10-12 fow, 1/2 football jig with Zoom trailer. Had to have rock bottom, slight current or the edge of slack water, nothing on slick spots. Hitting like a worm, tap, tap. Had to feel the weight, or watch the line move to hook up. Jerked away from several. Water was 55. Turned out to be a nice day with the sun, and wind dying down.
