I know a lot of you guys like to fish mud and crow creeks, I do too! But I dont understand why we are planning on going out of the 117 ramp. We are confining ourselves to only one end of the lake. You know there are a couple of events on the lake that day and those areas are going to be full of people. I know there's an event out of Jackson Co. but there's tons of parking and better security for unattended vehicles. Just a suggestion....

BTW, I'm looking forward to seeing all of you...I'm fishing with my buddy "DAVID". Everyone be sure and come back to the weigh-in this time so you can see our huge sack!....Lets get the smack goin!

I'm not sure if you fished last year's CFF tournament on the G @ Jackson Co Park, but it took Ron and I close to 90 minutes to put the boat on the trailer. It was a clusterf#$@ at the ramp. 2 tournaments of 40+ boats was more than that ramp could handle.

Actually there was four tournaments that went out of there that day. emoBang It took me and my partner over an hour to get on the trailer. It was one big freaken mess. No one knew if everyone made it back or was late or what. No place to park and no place to set up and have the wiegh in where you did not feel like you were in everyone elses way. We just ended up leaving and did not even bothered to wiegh in. I do not blame you guys for wanting to avoid that again. emoRolleyes Jmax

Yea JCP was a disaster last year. We had to push back the blast off to give everyone time to get on the water, then pushed back weigh in as well because there were so many boats you couldn't even get to the dock to let your partner out to go weigh the fish. It was awful.

Is it the distance to Sauty and that area that is a problem? I know that a few people have run from Marion County to Chick Dam to fish Nick tournies.
I think the mileage would be close to the same.
I ran from 117 to the town of Guntersville and it was 49 miles on gps. I know that is crow flies measurement but G doesn't wind too much.
My question is-why is there only one CFF tx on Guntersville anyway?

If security is a concern, we could hunt up someone to sit in the lot for a couple hours, it's only till 2. I have been fishing there since it was a dirt ramp and never had a problem, never even seen a pile of glass. As a matter of fact, fishing solo last spring I was so fired up I put my boat in and took off and left my truck sitting there unlocked with the keys in it!
But either way someone's gonna whine! emoBawl

I wasn't at the "G" last year because of another tx I fished that day. I did hear about the mess, but I have fished a lot of events out of Jackson County in the last few years with multiples going and it wasn't too bad. Like I said if I am confined up river thats fine, but going out down river would open up a lot more water for us to spread out. There's a lot of awsome springtime fishing down river. I'll fish either way. Is there even a sign-up list other than the calender?

Can you not go out of Mud lake anymore? The couple of times we had it there was not a problem. emoScratch Jmax

I like 117 myself even though its a good run to go to mud and even further to n. & s. sauty. JCP was rediculous last year, no parking and who knows what group everyone blasted off with and came in with. I'm looking forward to the 20th and hope the weather breaks a bit before then but by the way the reports have been coming in from down there it ought to be fun!!!!

I think Mud Creek ramp is still boogered. If yall will all stay in Mud and Crow Creek, I'll take Jones and Coon. I feel like 117 puts fishing down river hard to make, especially in bad weather. Not trying to ruffle feathers just trying to put it up for public debate and input....My personal goal for this event is to hand Jmax and Mr Whiskers their butts. If I dont I can always roll whiskers yard on the way home.

I appreciate the input Justin, I just dont really know what other options we have on this one. Like mentioned before by a few folks, JCP was a complete disaster last year. I would imagine Goose Pond would be just as bad. What other easily accessible ramps are there? I've never put in at 117, so I dont know anything about it. I have used JCP and Goose Pond and they are both nice, but they are also the most frequented by tournaments.

Scotsboro City Park is a good ramp for a large TX and very easy to get to. Mink Creek is another good one.

Let's all put in at different ramps and just call one administrator with our weight, that way we're all happy! It will be an honor system thing, that way we don't have to trust the commities schedule! emoPoke
