That's like saying a mustang is the same as a focus cause it is made at the same plant.

Well this is what I know. Stratos dropped the 200 proXL which is what i fish out of and absolutely love. they also dropped their largest volume dealer for 3 or 4 yrs in a row. That said dealer has a very well known reputation for taking care of their customers. So with those two things being said, I wont own another stratos (unless something changes). I dont see the future looking good. Its a simple issue to me. If you increase production by 3 additional brands, quality will decrease because you are trying to produce a lot more boats from the same factory that you were producing just 1 out of last yr (and this yr until a month ago). i dont see anyway around that. they will be letting the chopper guns fly out as much fiberglass as they can pump through em. emoLaugh

Basscat, Bullet, Stroker, Allison, Gamblers, etc are looking better to me. A company that is in it for the long haul. PE is in it to turn a profit and then sell them off. Pretty sure thats what your going to see happen.
I hope Im wrong about all this, but I have seen things like this happen before.

Actually Jim....the 200XL is the ProXl. There just wasn't enough difference in the two. What did happen, and I believe Ranger learn a lesson from it was, they stripped the 07s of their cosmetics. Beetlespin had one and mine was an 06. Very different in bells and whistles. Still..same hulls, same layouts. The next year, they gave it back its looks and then some.

As for the merger and dealers...some did suffer and that was a sad site. I know of several others they did that too.

no bbass, what i meant is that ranger has announced that stratos wont offer a 200 model. they will only have a 19'5" (294 model) and a 21' (201) model. no 20' model (200 Model).

Whatever it takes for a boat to cost less than house!!!! I love nice boats, but maybe they have priced themselves out of business and need to make a change. $40 or $50K to have a boat to go catch a fish so that most of us can go to Long John Silvers to get some fish to eat cause we all throw them back?? Really???

If thats true, they are screwing up. The 20 foot has to be the top selling line...or I would think so.

Where did you read that at?

200 was discontinued. They are replacing it with the old Champ 20 footer. I wasnt crazy about the champ. They 200 would have been a monster seller if they would up the rating to 250 hp. Solid 80 mph tx boat.
