I have seen many sludged engines get denied. It is NOT the dealerships call but the Distric manager from Chyrsler. When we have one that is questionalble then we have to get him involed. When I say sludged, I mean alot of sludge. All engines will build some sludge up reguardless, But if it has a 1/2 of sludge built up in the valve covers or oil pan, then that when they get Chyrsler involved. If it is a sludged engine that gets covered we have to include the info that they give us when we return it to Chyrsler. We have had people drive them so long that ALL the oil has become solid, and makes a nice black gello. Alot of it goes with driving habbits. You drive long distances and the moisture gets "burned out" and the oil does last longer. It is bad for many short trips on one. The engine sweats and he exhaust sweats. The exhaust rusts from the inside out.

I got my oil changed Thursday at Prebul for $20.25 with a coupon. When I worked there it cost me $16. I have the 16 plug 4.7L that just came out in 08, and I couln't buy 6 QTS of good oil for that price. I get coupons all the time. Did you buy from Prebul?

That site is selling you a sampling kits and oil test. They were detecting things likeanti-freeze in the oil. That is a mechanical issue. They cost $22.50 and would cost more than a oil change on most vehicles. If it was like a cross fire that has a $125 oil change that would be great. I will not argue the fact that oil does last longer 3K, But there is certain driving habits that would change when you change oil. It was the statement that changing you oil will damage the engine that I wanted to see. That is why there is a Schedule A and B. They are for different habbits. I have seen them drop in 08 the 15K diff services and I built hundreds of rear diffs with trac-loks from the lack of fluid change. The friction modifier breaks down and the clutches chatter, then the clips break and fills the case full of metal where the clips rub the housing. Now they don't want you to service them. You stated that your oil change monitor as high as 8K and as low as 2K and it is doing that off your driving habits. With the 2K you did alot of short non-drive cycles. A drive cycles is when a pcm will see alot of different driving conditions, speeds, rpms, ect. Doesn't mean you didn't drive it. I will have to do some research or call Chrysler when I get a chance. I see it written that it was 2500-3500 somewhere. It may have been on another model. 8K sounds high to me for the highest the manual wants is 6k. But Chryslerchanges so much between years and makes of the same year now wonder I had to go to training 20 or more times a year!!!! It may be normal for a 8K.
