I just purchased a used boat with a Lowrance 5 Elite DSI unit. The unit is a 2011 model. It is in a bowrider / family boat so I will be mainly using the unit for depth readings and navigation. It has been winterized so I won't get to really try it out until late spring 2024. I understand the Elite 5 DSI unit has a pretty good base map but I was wondering if anyone has upgraded an older Lowrance unit and might have a SD card for the southeast that would be for sale. I'm not sure which cards my unit will take but I think the Gold level cards work. If anyone has a card please respond to this or better yet just message me through this forum with your contact name. It would also be helpful to me if some of you Lowrance gurus shared which map card would be best for my unit. There are so many versions such as Gold, +, Platinum, and so on that I'm not sure which would be best. Keep in mind that my main map use will be navigation and since this boat drafts a lot more water than my bass boats I need accurate depth information. Maybe the base map will be detailed enough, if you have experience with that vintage base map I'd appreciate any input. Thanks!
