Winter Draw Down Possum Creek Ramp

Comparatively speaking, the Possum Creek Ramp is good. However it is ALWAYS dependent upon the specific lake level. The devil is in the details. Even when it reaches so-called winter pool, level can vary up and down based on rainfall and generation schedules. If the Chickamauga Lake Level falls below the 676 mark, caution is warranted on EVERY boat ramp. The exception might be the newly-refurbished Chester Frost Park Ramp. Otherwise, if levels drop below 676, be careful on any ramp. If it approaches 675, things really get sketchy. Careful at Chester Frost. Came in a little to far right and dinged my prop on
that small small hump just short of the put in.

Watch you footing also as water goes down. Launched by myself up on Watts Bar and took a good spill jumping into boat. Sandals and slime don’t mix..
Amen to that. I took a "slime slide" three weeks ago at Chick Dam ramp. Ended up w bruised ribs and two weeks of down time trying to recover.

I’m sitting here with ice on my hip and heat on my back…not a kid anymore. I’m basically an idiot, I slipped in the spring all the way down to my tires! That was cold….about 51 degrees. Grabbed the trailer, got up and went down again!
