I've been getting 59 GPS tourney loaded, 2 ppl ... but only 5100 rpms .... Stratos says it should get 65 at 5500 with a 24" raker .. hoping the jack plate will help me get that and a little more ... especially after Wrechin2 beefs the motor up emoSmile

OOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOHHHHHHHHHHHHHH YYYYYYYYEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHH!!! MO POWER!!!!! But we are only going to take the free horspower OMC left behind. I had to go to a guy who worked for OMC R&D department and he was part of the team when OMC broke the record for world fastest outboard for the recipe for it and he assured me around 20-30 HP without hurting it's reliability. HE IS the man for OMC's. He has had several article wrote about him and his work. Not like the 70HP we are squeezing out of oldman's 150.

one more thing, i'm kinda short ,5'6, and moved my hot foot back so i could reach it. was wandering if the cable may not be adjusted right and not letting it open up all the way. what kinda price range for mods you done to tazga thanks for the advice and look forward to hear about taz's boat. thanks again, eric blankenship

Eric,
Sorry couldn't talk the other night. My computer is infected with that conflicker virus. Was on the phone with my brother who is a computer admin and was walking me through some stuff. Haven't built taz's yet. That is in about 2.5 weeks while he is on vacation. Later!

just let me know when you get it all done and the difference it makes. I'm kinda excited to think about the juice that you say is there but not being used. Sounds cheaper than buying another boat. thanks again!!!!!!!

I will take pics and show you. Most of it is cleaning out turbulance and straightning out air flow. More air and fuel, more power. There are some lips at the bottom of the cylinder blocking passages and you remove them. I will be showing some pics for a mercury I am about to start on for a Triton TR-20. I am doing alot of modified engines, that is one of the reasons I am so far behind. I have 5 engines going on and 1 is a stock build and have already built 2 modified this year and a few lowers, amoung other things!LOL!!! Later!!!

sounds like you stay very busy.no hurry on mine , what kind of jack plate are you going to put on taz's boat? don't work to hard, everyones gotta play at something to keep from going crazy in this messed up world .thanks

We put a 6" high jacker manual. Had to mill out a slot on the port side. The transon hold down was hitting and had to machine the jack plate for clearance. I love having a mill. Should have seen Taz's face when I took off alot of aluminum in just a few seconds!!! It is neat to watch the mill work. Later.

Everything goes fast except for boring. I only take off a few thousands at a time and have a very good finish when done with less than .0005 runout. Cutting heads, decks, and front halfs goes pretty fast since I don't have to baby sit. When at the end the power feed turns off and quits feeding. It is just a VERY MESSY process. It slings shavings 10 Feet. So I do all the machine work then clean up to assemble.

talked to him sat at the tournament and he said he could see a big difference, look forward to see what you can do to help mine.

I talked to him later. Seems to be 5 MPH with a load. He is suppose to run it by himself and see what it runs.
