It's once again time to start thinking hard about what our hopes, goals, and aspirations for the coming fishing year will be. I'll start it out, but I expect we'll have some very interesting and well thought-out posts, not just the old overused "more and bigger fish"!

1. More and bigger fish (oops).

2. Since I'm still fishing with what is the fishfinder equivalent of the original "Pong" game, I think I'd really like to upgrade to something serious if I can find a way to pay hospital bills and still afford it. My hope is that I can get a Humminbird 997cSI for the old boat, although it does seem silly wanting to get a fishfinder worth more than the boat. I can't imagine what my catch rate would be if I could actually see the bottom most of the time - much less fish arches!

3. I shalt not fall in (again).

4. My boat shalt not sink (again).

5. My health and finances shalt be sufficient to allow me to fish often and with many new and old friends (again). (Winning the lottery would be a very positive step in the right direction).

6. A new personal best blue cat - 85+ pounds!!!!

7. More and bigger fish (I couldn't help myself).

.

Ive got two besides my same old one "to spend more time on the water", and thats to get better at catching crappie consistantly,,, and to break the 50lb mark " my PB blue cat 35 lb ", ive hook two I think will go that, but havent closed the deal yet.. with some luck...

Catch more than 146 bass in one day (caught 146 on day this spring, think I can get 200 if I really tried).

Catch a 4lb spot out of Nickajack (had this goal this year but only got a 3.6. Not sure if a 4lber lives in Nick but I plan to find out)

I want to catch a largemouth and smallmouth over 6 lbs in the same day.

I want to break the 75 mark for a blue, and I want to catch my first ever Pike over 40 inches on my next trip to Canada.

I want to catch a giant striper over 30 lbs this next year, somehow, somewhere.

Is that so much to ask for?

-Get a 50 lb blue (current PB is nowhere close)
-Do more flathead hunting (PB is 40 lbs even, but I just dont get to get after them often enough)
-Fish with Eric without sinking his boat.
-Oh what the heck: new PB largemouth (over 5 lbs) this one should be easy. I catch huge numbers of bass, tons and tons 3+, lots over 4, but I just cant break 5 even.
-CATCH SOME FISH WITH SLO RIDE: He can catch fish, and I can catch fish, but every time weve gone out together has been a near skunk. Were due for a good trip. Itll happen soon.
-Get back down to the coast for some much-missed surf and pier action.
****Forgot one---meet and fish with more CFF members. This ones a little tough living o far away from most members, but I really want to share the boat with you guys. Good group we've got here.

1. My Boat finished and and running like a scalded dog.

2. Spend more time one the water.

3. Get a 30lb + striper

4. Beat my PB Largemouth from last yr of 7lbs and PB Smallie of 5.5

5. Fish more areas outside of Chick and Nick , if the gas prices stay down below 2.00 per gallon.

6. Spend more time on the water

7. Break no rods in 2009 broke 6 last yr 3 in one day( fell from a big wake and landed on 3 rods one was brand new emoBang )

8. Take the family out more

1. To be much more consistent than in 2008 (consistently better).
2. To be competitive in cba if whiffinvol and I are man enough to fish it.
3. To relax and spend more time on the water.

To show more of "what to do" than "not what to do" with whomever I'm fishing. I have learned way more this past year than I could teach. I appreciate the ones that have put up with my a$$.

Im gonna be a little greedy here. I WANT THAT 100 LBER!!!! I would also like to catch a fish thats in the 80's and 90's. Maybe that s a little much to ask for....but O well I asked anyway emoLaugh I would also love to catch a striper....never caught one. Drumking says he's afraid to take me...cause if I catch one..I might quit catfishing.....not gonna happen....but I still want to catch a striper....any size will do to start with!!! emoLaugh

Well the one major goal is to take my little girls fishing, they are 5 and 2. and just let them have fun.
Next would be to catch a limit in every tournament i fish.
Also need to take my grandpa fishing while I still can.

My goals for 2009:

Thank God everday for giving me the opportunity to go fishing.

Maintain my sanity and try to NOT "display my middle finger" at the uncourteous "idiots" of the lakes.

Be safe on the water.

Catch a blue over 60.

Meet more CFF members.

Take my girls fishing more ofter this year.

Catch my first "BIG" blue cat, big being 30lb+.

Have more fun.

My intent for next year is to broaden the number of different species I have caught. This would include catching some of the "coarse" fish in these waters as well as a few game fish I have not caught.

1. I would like to fish more in 09 than in the past. Twice a week min.

2. I hope to fish more with CFFer's esp. DK and EricM.

3. I want to get out more with the Family.

4. I want to raise that PB on the following Species. Bass LM& SM. Cat over 40lb and Crappie (looking for a TARP).

5. I hope to fish in at least two new lakes this year.

6. I hope to catch my first Tenn. River Stripper.

Tell me when you find the school of strippers in the river I'll be throwing more than minners at them!

My goals are:
1. To spend as mcuh quality time on the water.
2. fishing with as many others as I can to learn new things.
3. To win a tournament or at least place.
4. To meet more CFF memebrs
