What rule changes would you guys like to see for the 2016 season? Please only comment if you actually fish CBA's. Thanks!

Eric I think that's an interesting comment, and its one we have discussed. My fear with that is that it might hurt participation a little bit. We have a very long season and its impossible to not have overlap with other tournaments throughout the season. The other side of the argument is if its so important to someone to not have a DNF they could pay their entry fee and just not fish and they would get a 10 which they could drop.

Thanks for the comment and this is one that we have been discussing.

I think the payout scale for the classic needs to change. Why spread the money out so far? The drop from 1st to second is huge. I say let's reward the top finishers and quit giving out participation checks.
Also forget about the off limits before the classic. Don't really see the point.

Don't agree with the can't drop a DNF. Us College fisherman are on road fishing somewhere every weekend and yes like Shane said dates do overlap in those tournaments occasionally. Everyone's goal is to make the Classic and thats hard to do if you get 10 points that you cannot drop because you are out of state fishing somewhere else. We appreciate the CBA for opening a division for us and we are looking forward to getting more boats from our team involved this year.

1. Off limits Wednesday till the Saturday tourneys.
2. No transfer of fish during practice. (? On poly)
3. No defensive fishing during practice. (? On poly)
4. Three fish limit in July and August tourney.
5. Upgrade to live tank weigh-in.
6. Have a clean up the River day.

Matt, I hear what you are saying. One thing that we are going to be voting on is to change the free entry back to the top 25 from the top 50 for the Classic in terms of free entry fee. This year we paid out $53,000 in the classic and only had 18 teams pay an entry fee. If we moved it back to the top 25 in points that would add an additional $8,000 to the classic payout from entry fees which would then be the best of both worlds. Keep 11- last check the same and add the additional $8,000 into the top 10. I believe this is probably the best scenario.

Andy, there is no way we can do the off limits every single tournament that would crush participation. Numbers 2 and 3 would add 1 million weekly phone calls to me. I'm not trying to be difficult but you have to understand that none of the CBA officers get paid, we all have full time jobs and this would absolutely make my phone blow up. We had great live release rates this season. We never had more than 10 dead fish in a single tournament the entire year. What do you mean by live tank weigh-in? I love the idea of a work day!

Jon, we voted on length of night tournaments a couple of years ago by all anglers and it wasn't even close. The other issue is safety. Having all the tournament boats converge on the park at the same time during dark or low light times would be a concern.

Are there any changes considered for the youth division. Maybe instead of I tune csrd, maybe cash or acedemy gift card. Fine the way it is but at least they could get a few fishing stuff if they liked.

I understand the phone blowing up deal. LOL But it simply takes one statement of Guys this is the designated practice week b4 tourney and you may not transfer fish that you catch during practice to another spot of the lake.
You also cannot beat up on other schools of fish trying to "sore mouth" or "play defense" as it is called for the sole purpose of gaming the rules of Sportsmanship. Just say it will be a question on the polygraph and if you have to think about it being wrong it is wrong. I didnt learn or think of these kind of things happening till this year. I know it happens and it is outside of the Spirit of the Competition. IMO. It just doesn't seem right as this tournament series I believe is to encourage and support the weekend angler. Live tank weigh in like the clear glass fish tank some of the larger tourneys use it may not be practical for CBA I would just like to look into it for fish care. Thanks again for all you and the other officers do.

1. No off limits for the classic or any of the other tournaments. Its not very beneficial.
2. Fishing methods be in compliance of state laws, if the state says the rig is legal then it should be legal in the tournaments, and if the state says you can long line a crank bait then it should be legal in the tournaments. Who cares what FLW or BASS does, we aren't either one of the pro tours, we are a local open trail. I am in full belief that the no rig rule was put in place because certain anglers are dominate with it, I think this is garbage. I also don't think doing away with the rig helped the participation any.
3. Increase classic payout for the top places and not pay so deep in the field. There is too big of a money gap between 1st, 2nd, and 3rd.

Im for long lining fragmentation grenades. Maybe I could get enough poundage to win one of these things.

Oh and 1 more have a Carp bow hunting event to help rid that invasive species..

No boat number redraws. You stick with the number you get the first time. I know it's a big money maker and I redraw sometimes myself but I like the idea of everyone playing the hand they are dealt. Some people can't afford to drop $100 trying to get a good number. Just an idea though. I also agree the top 25 should be the only ones fishing for free in the classic.

If you are going to poke at twra rules, you can't have it both ways! If you long line then you allow the rig! It can't just be, what suits you.

As far as the off limits, I was for it. But I work swing shift It actually wound up hurting me. So I am going to promote no off limits. A person should be able to fish when they get a chance. The ones that fish every day are going to do be there whenever the opportunity arises.
