Anybody got any experience with them. I know two people that have them and love them. I am considering an XB-21 BasSport Pro with either a 225 or 250 Mercury if I can get over the sticker shock. They cost as much as a Ranger but they have some very appealing features. Particularly the ability to get double the gas mileage of most bass boats.

Hey bettlespin, they are all that and then some. A friend of mine down in alabama took me fishing in his new 21' and boy was I impressed. I've never been to big on the A boats for fishing but man they hit the nail on the head with this one. My friend runs a 250xs on his and gets great fuel mileage, and the ride isn't too shabby either. That sticker price is a shocker no doubt at over $50g's, but if you wanna play you gotta pay LOL

They are very nice from what I have read and seen. They aint just about speed anymore, great fishing platform. I'll bet with the 250xs your in the 90s. Your probably closer to 60K though, arent you?

They are pretty expensive but if I could be happy with a boat for 5 oe more years it would be cheaper for me. I am a speed freak and for that you have three choices. Allison, Bullet, and Stroker. Of those three I like the Ally the best by a wide margin. I would put a 225 pro xs or a 250 xs on it. Length of warranty may swing me to the pro xs or even a yamaha because they all seem to tear up and they are expensive to work on.

If your looking for a speed boat and a bass boat my vote is the 21xd bullet.
I'm not a speed freak myself. and i normally like the heavy boats, (rangers, tritions, etc, etc,). but actually the 21xd bullet has the best fishing area, stroage, live well system than any other boat i've been in.

why you want to go so fast??????????? I have been fishin a loooong time and I don't recall ever catchin a bass running 80 mph. Look for comfort and pleasure.....that's my .02 worth....FA

Gosh dang Lance ... I've had soft plastics last longer on the hook than some of your boats have hung around! emoPoke

They'll haul the mail, but I can never get past the name. If you get one and you decide to change brands - and you KNOW you will - you can then get a Linda ... or a Sophie ... or a Trisha ... or a Beth ... or a Gertrude ... or a ....... emoLaugh

Just get a 20XD and be done with it. Any faster and you'll have fishheadspin wearin' diapers.

they are one of the nicest boats made, but they have their downfalls too (price and engine rating). me and dad went and toured the plant and looked at them. they are high $60k or so. but they are nice. biggest problem with them is that they are only rated for a 225. so mid to upper 80s is what they will run. bullet will definitely be faster and cheaper.

I don't know about that hp rating. The bassport pro I'm looking at has a merc 3OO XS on it and goes for a little under $6Ok. I don't want the 3OO so I think I can get it a little cheaper. At the end of the day they cost about what a Ranger cost but do a whole lot more. The bassprot pro has a very nice layout.

I have a1995 pro sport tournament edition and i love mine too. I have been in several boats and the ride in my Allison is as smooth as any in my opinion. If you cruise at 55or60 the gas mileage is great. The new xs motor must be awsome on gas mileage,I still run the old faithful mariner magnum 225 2 stroke. When i want to get on up the river in a hurry i know i can. It is a fun boat to own and drive.

Well my wife signed my permission slip today so it looks like there will be a new blue and white Bassport Pro with a 3OO xs in my basement soon. Hopefully this will be my last boat for a long time. I really didn't want the 3OO but its the same price as the 25O so why not? I just won't push the gas petal down as far.

Whatever, that's the same as you saying "this will be my last boat for a long time". Congrats anyway!!! emoThumbsup

It did not cost $60K but it didn't miss by much either. I expect about 5-7mpg in normal conditions. I don't expect to be wide open very often at all. I still might switch the engine to a 250XS. A 300 just seems like overkill to me. I think it will fly with a 225.

I am tinkering with props and set up on mine right now and when i get the right prop and adjusted to the sweet spot i should run in the 90's with a 225. You r going to love the Allison boat.emoThumbsup

Thanks Fishnrod and JTF. I think I will get the 250 instead of the 300 though. Just in case I ever decide to fish any BFL or weekend series events I want to be legal. I think the hp max is still 250 for both. I can't imagine ever needing more than that anyway. I'm excited but I can't pick it up until 1/7 because it will be in the Nashville boat show 1/4-1/6.
