I live in Cleveland and was excited when Dunham's showed up. They price match, so I figured I could at least get some cheap ammo.

Well, I've yet to have a positive experience there. Rarely any staff around, and if they are, they don't know anything about anything. I get that they want to hire kids because they're cheap, but a little training would go a long way.

And then I got this killer $25 off anything over $100 coupon. Sweet, right? No. It excludes anything and everything I'd ever want to buy there.

Went on their FB page and apparently these negative experiences aren't occurring only in their new Cleveland store. It's a phenomenon, it seems, at all their locations.

Anyway, I'm wondering if anyone out there has had a good experience there or if I should just stay away like I'm planning. (Which kind of stinks because my wife got me a $50 gift card for there, so really...the money's spent.)

I was really excited when they came to town. I have made three trips to the store and have only bought some descenting soap. The prices are little higher than I think they should be on the hunting equipment. I was looking at several identical items at other stores and they were all less expensive than Dunhams.

I went there and bought some braid I knew Randy didnt have ( I checked first). It was what I would've expected to pay, and the lady at the checkout was pleasant and helpful. There weren't any flowers or people who wanted to by the world a Coke, but it was ok. I'll still shop at Fishtales first.

They have some plain ladder stand on sale for $50 with a coupon right now. I bought 3 there and had two employees walk by and never offer to help transport to the register or to my vehicle. Not to mention I had my 2 year old and could only get one at a time in the buggy safely. But the manager was there as I was getting the 3rd one in my vehicle and asked if anyone had helped me . I politely told him no and he asked if I would walk back in with him. He ended up giving me an extra 20% off.

I have more tackle in my boat than they have in their store. I didn't even see anyone that looked like they worked there.

Haven't seen the Cleveland store yet, but I have visited the Athens location. I was disappointed in the fishing tackle selection.
I will shop Soddy Custom Tackle or Sportmans before I go back to Dunham's.

Update: I had a pleasant experience last night. After spending my $50 gift card, I decided I didn't want what I got. So I took it back, open package and all - and instead of getting a gift card, they gave me cash.
