I realize that this is nowhere near as important as Eric's surgery or Mr. Whisker's birthday, but I am highly PO'd that Comcast has pulled the HISTORY CHANNEL and put it on channel 126. They've done this with other channels, but I didn't watch those so I didn't care. They're also going up on their rates in December. It's time to tell Comcast to shove their service. And I will, just as soon as I decide which satelite service to get. Any recommendations?

I hear you loud and clear.... but I'd stick with cable. Not one time have I ever had the screen go blank with the cable. But when inclement weather comes rolling in, the satellite services can go blank and you never know how long. Hard rain and especially snow blocks the signal. The advent of DVR's does minimize this if you have shows stored that you haven't watched. But NOTHING will piss you off quicker than to be into a ballgame or movie during the premiere and have the screen go out. I've had both Direct and Dish. Direct has the best in my opinion. Especially if you want to spring for the big money and get the NFL ticket. That rocks!!!!! My .02

I got Dish Network. I love mine but like NA said it does happen but bot to bad. Only one time was in in the middle of a game i really wanted to see the end of. Had to go to truck and listen to the rest of it. JUST MY .02

Comcast sucks! I have Direct and like it. I replaced Dish with Direct but both go out in bad weather. Its still better than putting up with crapcast and their sorry attitude.

I have Direct TV and have had it for years. When I lived in Ohio I had very few blackouts from the snow. Here I have only lost signal a couple of times and then it was really heavy rain and only lasted for about 5 minutes. I also have a lot better picture than Comcast and of course it is all digital.I have had several price battles with Comcast (I won't go into that now...too lengthy). The only reason I have anything Comcast is my internet access. That is going to change as soon as the EPB gets theirs going!

I left Comcast 4 years ago and picked up Dish Network. I have had it in Hixson and Sale Creek with great success. Very, very few signal problems. Maybe 2-3 times for a few minutes. I miss CSS on football Saturday's but will not go back to Comcast.

I too have direct TV and have had it for about 8 months now and can honestly say it has never gone out on me. Not even for a second. I wish we could afford the HD upgrade! Sucks being poor!!

beetlespin - 11/1/2008 2:25 PM HD upgrade is only $5-$10 a month. You waste a lot more than that on all those goofy lures you buy:)

Hadn't bought a lure a long time, I'm more likely to sell them rather then buy them now a days. ;)</p>

Comcast has gotten a lot of abuse on here, but I have always found them to be very helpful whenever I have had a problem either with internet or phone service. I have never had a problem with the TV. I don't necessarily like the prices, but I don't like gas prices either or our electric, water, everything else going up.

My mom had Direct TV in Maryville and everytime that it clouded up east of Knoxville, the system was always searching for a signal and it lasted for several minutes at a time. Quite a few times they had to have the system rebooted. I wouldn't have that problem for one minute.

If you have Direct or Dish and are happy, then hooray for you. I'm totally satisfied with Comcast.
