As if that is not bad enough, we now have to duck and cover for Global Warming and Immigration. Of course, immigration is big because Obama and the Nut's can buy a few million votes by letting the illegals stay and become citizens.

I know...hey the gumment has got this new health insurance and they will pay to have my back fixed....but to qualify for it...i cant make as much money as I make at work....so I will just quit. SIGN ME UP!!!! WHy in the HELL would I have any incentive to go into work tommorow????

The pre-existing conditions is a bunch of bull after you have stayed with an ins. for 1 entire year pre-existing conditions are no longer penalized. There are also no price controls so an ins can't deny you but your premium could be so high that they price you out. I can't believe we are paying 1 trillion for this malarkey.

Outcaster where are you getting your 150.00 for a doc visit? You can go to any doc in a box i.e. Mednow or Priority Care center for around $50.00. Pretty cheap if you ask me.

What this bill will do is to allow those people who don't have Medical ins. , obtain it , but the rest of us will pay for it. Just another Welfare in the making, that's all. Next we will be buying these same people , Homes, Cars, Food, Clothing and etc. I for one don't mine at all helping those people that really need help, but I don't like helping the deadbeats and some of these people are . This is only the beginning , more to come our way.

Respect is earned , not given and I don't think this president has earned it so far.... That's what a gentleman in my town said today, I believe he's right on this one.

Everyone receiving public aid should be randomly drug tested, just like me to keep my job.

Children can stay on a parents health plan til age 26-- why is this a good thing?

Just like myself, I was without health care for many years while going to college, fortunately nothing bad happened. I know a guy that had an ATV accident, in debt for over 100,000. Not a good way to start your adult life.

Yea i took advantage of my parents too while in college and stayed on their insurance until they kicked me offat 21. I still feel like a D-bag for it.

just wondering why extending it out to 26 is ok. at what point do we teach our kids to come off the tit and get a real job!

And i dont want anyone on here to tell me that a person should stay on there mom's insurance until 26 because they are getting masters degrees.
Beetlespin is a perfect example of someone who worked a 60 hour a week job, raised a family and got a master's degree all at the same time and i am pretty sure he had his own insurance! He may not do may things right but that was one thing he did!!

like i said before, i stayed on my parents insurance as long as i could where i could work part time and go to school (sometimes), and went to the bars all the time. I will be the first to say there should be a penalty to anyone who is on there insurance after 21!!!!

Here is the problem, nobody is telling you should insure your kid till 26. If you don't want to, don't. If I want to keep my daughter on my insurance until she leaves college I should be able to do that.

Just opens the door for 25 and 26 years old to live at home with momma that much longer! there are too many professional students in the world now! and even more that have no plan of ever working until made to or the government will prop them up in other ways....

Wow! So is that how Republicans think, is that their mentality. I am the ONLY one in my family that has a college 4 year degree. I am not talking immediate either. I was 29 before I got my degree. I put my wife through school then I made it through. It should not have to be that way. By gosh that or your view of the way things are is probably why I will probably never ever vote Republican again. The Republican view of the American average blow joe is so screwed up it is not even funny. Got my degree without ever having insurance, lucky. I am well off, but by Gosh I have not forgot where I come from. This only proves how out of touch the Republican party is with the American people. Basically, if you are not rich you should go to work, screw college. I am a firm believer that people can change their stars, as a society we should want to strive to increase the standard of living of all Americans and not just the few at the top. We should create opportunity, not road blocks, but hey thats just me. To me it is pretty much a sad day when people no longer have faith in the American pubic. Just keep feeding the rich. Probably said more than I should have. I am really sorry you have no more faith in your kids than that. However, I don't want my kid putting off medical care just because she is passionate about education, and wants to become a doctor.

emoScratch Gotta admit..... These last few posts are the first time I've heard anyone come out against keeping young adults on a parents health plan.... seems that most people should want that..... They will be INSURED....... and I won't have to pay their medical bills when they go to ER.

I'd keep my kids on during college. College only and they better have something solid in 4 years! :) I think its a ok deal to have them on it, most students cant afford to go to class and hold down decent enough jobs to pay for things. Plus, I;d rather know that if something did happen, they would have insurance.

By age 26...they need to be out on thier own! Thats not a young adult, thats a working class adult...or better be!

I agree, but to become a doctor, which we are going to need more of now. Sometimes it takes until they are even older than 26, however I can live with 26. By then they should be in a residency, in which they would have care. To become lawyer, pretty much the same. Most are not going to be on parents plan that long.

Schools and insurances offer discounted rates for student healthcare and most if not all colleges have free infirmaries to go to for minor emergencies and routine illness.

Thats great to hear. Been to a few myself. With that being said they should not have a problem with me keeping my daughter on my plan.

I don't care how old they are.... The whole point is to have as many of us as possible insured. Frankly, I'm sick and tired of seeing my rates, deductibles and co-pays go up because the costs of treating someone that does not have insurance is passed on to me.

I'm sure we'll see a mad rush to get into medical school now. </p>

Outcaster, the inherent problem with increased healthcare cost is insurance and govt regulation. So we could deduct that more ins and more gov't involvment will increase the costs further.
