I think the world is becoming one screwed up place. I will never buy another Nike product again as long as this stays current. Seriously? A guy who chose to kneel on the National anthem, disrespecting all who have fought and served this great nation of which many have died defending his right to be an idiot. An overpaid NFL QB that let his position and fame put himself above the everyday "joe" who serves this country. I could not give a rat's butt less why he did it. emoBang It is disrespectful to the flag, our nation and this country. I wish the a-hole would find some other country he likes better and move there. emoMad O.K., I will step off my soap box. emoGeezer Jmax

no more nike for me. I could not believe they renewed bumping up his contract to what the top NFL pros make. And the fact he is sueing the NFL because they are boycotting him. If he was an engineer who acted like an idiot and they all decided not to hire him could he sue all of them?

Blows my mind that a very successful brand like Nike feels the need to get involved in controversial current events and politics. Any savvy business owner knows better than to attach your brand to anything political or religious. Goony lefties will buy 2 pairs of Nikes for everyone that gets burned. Luckily, I dont own a pair so I dont have to burn anything.

Thats very well put Jim.

It sucks for me because I have a ton of nike stuff that ive accumulated over the years. and my daughter wears nike stuff too. i could donate it all i guess.

The NFL supports nike in their message " NFL exec says the social justice issues raised by Kaepernick and other players "deserve our attention and action" and that the league supports players promoting "meaningful, positive change in our communities." Which somehow must be better than Tim Tebow having a bible verse in his eye paint. Go Figure!!

I am right there with you. I have several pairs of Nike athletic shoes. emoRolleyes I use to buy a pair of Nike Shocks about every year for a while. I do like their shoe line but now I could not bring myself to buy another knowing this crap. emoAngry Jmax

He plays it like the victim. He just wants attention. The media is more than willing to do just that for him.

Tomorrow night the National Football League season will start its 99th season when the Atlanta Falcons (0-4 in exhibition) will play Philadelphia (1-3 exhibition). But the “real season” opened Monday when the sports apparel giant, Nike, made Kaepernick the face of its new “Just Do It” campaign. A huge outcry arose, the universal line becoming, “Nike Just Did It!” and, brother, the NFL with its rejuvenated hysteria is once again off to the races.
Suddenly people all over the country are burning their Nike shoes, stock fell more than three points, the police unions are livid because Kaepernick is a known cop-hater and doesn’t care much for the white race either. Two years ago he led the players in kneeling during the national anthem at stadiums across the country to showcase racial disparities and pundits are already wondering if they’ll be the trademark swoosh on Colin’s cops-are-pigs socks.
As for me, I don’t care. I am over the NFL. Yes, I was mortified when the movement to kneel during our national anthem began. It is clearly disrespectful of the United States, an obvious racial ruse, and when the NFL owners did nothing, that is when I did something – changed the channel.

They kill each other with impunity here, chicago and elsewhere but they get pissed when they get shot by law enforcement. It's too bad more don't have a dirt blanket over them.

donate the Nike items to the Veterans rather than burn them

Any God fearing, love your country Veteran will not be wearing them. The folks who I saw get the most mad about "Kapernike" were Veterans.

the homeless veterans who would be getting them wont care, i have a point of contact for anyone in the Chattanooga area who wants to donate to homeless veterans

So if we have that rusty why can’t kids say the pledge in school? Isn’t that freedom of speech? But it offends others that do not believe in it! At what point is it not okay to voice your opinion like kneeling for the anthem! I say they do have that right but in the same breathe the coach has the right not to play their disrespectful overpaid crybaby a#*. And as a veteran homeless or not I wouldn’t take Nike products just for them backing that pos that is the face of Nike. Rather be barefoot in the snow than to support his sorry butt and the company that hired him

im not sure why they stopped the pledge( i think it had something to do with the "GOD" reference), i remember it as a child. as long as its voluntary and NOT forced then i dont know why it would be a problem.

and the same freedom he has to kneel; you and others have to criticize his actions, it works both ways.

thankfully youre not in that position and i hope you never get there but there are homeless guys that will be cold, hungry and thankful for shoes(regardless of brand) that someone didnt burn

let me just throw this out there before someone who doesnt know me or my background says something dumb. I AM A VETERAN!!! been in a combat enviroment, lost my best friend at the time, i work with veterans EVERY day and took an oath to THE CONSTITUTION! not to a flag, song, government or imaginary lines. if you havent read it lately, you should.
