You can have free speech as long as some dirt bag doesn't get his feelings hurt then it has to stop. Like the Pledge of Allegiance to the Flag. If you cant do that find a better place to live. He could move to Russia and take a knee there. Kapernick would have been in the news but it would have been his OBITUARY and not about the NFL not letting him play ball. Good men and women died to give that piece of crap the chance to play football. The least he could do is STAND in honor of them. He is more trouble than he is worth and that is why no NFL team wants him. I guess I should go back and sue all the companies that didn't hire me because it couldn't be my fault I didn't get the job. Give me a break. This Politically Correct crap is killing this country. Everything doesn't always work out the way you would like. That is life. You have a right to stand up for what you believe but it may come with a price. Shut up, get off the ground, dust yourself off and try again. Stop WHINING for crying out loud. I will shut up now. I need a drink!

…...Seriously? A guy who chose to kneel on the National anthem, disrespecting all who have fought and served this great nation of which many have died defending his right to be an idiot…....
You do realize that at the suggestion of Army Special Service veteran Nate Boyer, that Kapernick begin kneeling in order to honor those whom have died while serving rather than protesting by sitting on the team bench during the anthem.

Keep in mind that Chris Jackson/Mahmound Abdul-Rauf of LSU/NBA fame, started refusing to stand for the anthem way back in 1996. Barely made the news back then. Why the divisiveness these days?

Think I seen where they lost 2 billion yesterday on the Stock market!!!!!!!!
Stock fell 3%, just a bump over 1 million, oh and it went up today. Even with the loss, it still is higher than it was 30 days ago.

Keep in mind that Nike is 34 billion+ company. NFL is 74 or so, but divided into 32 teams worth around 2.3 billion each. Nike doesn't need NFL, nor it's fans to turn a profit. Right wing football watchers was not it's target audience. They make triple football monies in the domestic soccer market. Besides youth football numbers are way down, and many middle and high schools across the nation are dropping their programs.

Nike's marketing ploy got their name in every newscast, on radio, internet forum, plus lots of targeted advertising in the elusive social media (aka book of faces). Youth love feeling empowerment. Protest by there very nature are meant to be confrontational, draft card burnings, campus sit-ins, bra-burning etc…all meant to rise the emotions and then to bring about change. Phil Knight has made a great deal but really couldn't have made Nike huge without Sonny Vaccaro.

As a combat veteran who lost friends an platoon members I want be buying Nike merchandise or watching the N F L just like I did last year. If you love the N F L and Nike that’s your right but I want support either.

If you think losers in the nfl are kneeling because they are showing honor for those who have paid the ultimate sacrifice for that flag we wave then you are one of the dumbest people here. It is all bs and it’s the downfall of our country to even think things like that happen. Go to Thailand disrespect the flag there and go march up and down streets blocking traffic and see how that works out for you! Our cou try is an embarrassing that caters to anyone and everyone but the values in which it was founded on! When the news listens to high school kids about gun rights there begins to be a problem. Kids talking about more fun control those mean mean guns that kill people In our schools. It’s not the gu s it’s the people we need more idiot control. But when you have that then you infringe on peoples right to free speech. How about if you do t like our founded values leave at your own free will do t co e here legal or illegally and demand we change for your ways. If the word god offends you I’m sorry but when we said the pledge and had our buts tore up growing up we didn’t have near the problems back then that we do now

VALUES ON WHICH THIS COUNTRY WAS FOUNDED>>>>>>THE CONSTITUTION!!!!! the ONLY law of this country, everything else is statutes and codes but thats another conversation.

like i said in my first response: if you dont stand for free speech for ALL then you dont stand for free speech at all! you cant try to silence one because it offends you, suck it up buttercup and just ignore it like most do with all the other BS thats going on in the world.

All do respect for your service, but ignoring problems in our country is why we r in the shape we r in now. “ All it take for evil to prevail is that good men do nothing”
You stand for what is right I will stand with u, but if u kneel against those that have fought for our great nation ( no matter what your reasoning is) I’m standing against you till I die for my country and fellow Americans. The Loser has no respect for our country or he would have used his platform some other way. He has enough money to protest any other way he wants and use his right to speak freely as long as it is peaceful. He only caused more hate not solved our problem.

what is he protesting?

im not ignoring shit, im trying to learn everyday and spread the knowledge/information and perspective i gain everyday.

everyone is so up in arms about a football player kneeling but doesnt know or give a damn that the great US of A is supplying and supporting Saudi Arabia's attacks on Yemen's civilian population. That we support Isreal to the tune of 11 MILLION dollars a day and they are a terrorist apartheid state. and that we're trying to overthrow the democratically elected leader of Syria. but you better stand for the anthem....

this is a link to a video that is VERY educational, i hope you all will watch it and then do your own research: https://youtu.be/QlunSNY5B48

Somehow, wearing COPS ARE PIGS socks, does not set too well with me. Personally, I don,t care if someone puts a bullet between his eyes. Thats just me.

What about cnn trying to overthrow our government I guess that falls into freedom of speech. The rules state abide by the speed limit or you get a ticket. Write the rules that all “role model” athletes pro athletes must stand in respect or they do t play they should be setting the example

You just don't get it Rusty. There are over 3 Billion muslims on this planet and most of them want to see Israel
disappear from the face of the earth. That is why they fight like they do, to keep those maggots from destroying their country.

If they were left alone to live in peace with their neighbors, the middle east would be a better place but it's not
so they will use any means at their disposal to survive. That video is nothing more than a dog and pony show
for the leftists of the world.

I'm sure the hildabeast and her minions are proud you're in their camp.

Dear Nike,
I want to have a conversation about this hat. It's over 13 years old. I don't remember when I bought it exactly, I don't remember where I bought it. But what I do remember is why I wore it.
On August 10, 2005, I was a newlywed with two young sons. My husband Tim and I had toasted our one month anniversary the night before, and I was enjoying a rare evening to myself, catching up on reading and relishing the quiet. Until there was a knock on my door. I had no way of knowing that the small act of turning a knob was about to shatter my life into a million pieces. I sat numb and in sheer disbelief as I was told that my husband, while in a foot pursuit and subsequent struggle with a suspect that ended up in the road, had been struck and killed by an oncoming vehicle. He took his last breath lying in the middle of the street. What I lost in that moment is indescribable. I had to watch his mother be dealt the most agonizing blow a parent can face, and I couldn't comfort her because I was in my own hell. I had to find a way to gut my own children in the gentlest way possible, and tell them that this man they had come to love, who they looked up to, who cared for them as his own, would never walk through our door again.
I don't know if you've ever attended a police funeral, but watching grown men who've seen the absolute worst things a civilian can imagine, break down and sob over the casket of their brother is an image that never leaves you. The bagpipes haunt my dreams to this day, but it was the faces of my children, the innocence that abandoned them at such a tender age that brought me to my knees.
I had no choice but to move on. We trudged zombie-like through our days for weeks and weeks on end. I never left the house except to drive the boys to school, or buy food we barely touched. I realized that I had to do something. I had to move my body or I was going to crawl out of my own skin. So I put on the only cap I had and I went for a run. It was short, it hurt and it was ugly. But I felt, just for those few moments on that road, like a normal person. So I kept doing it. I put that hat on and I ran every day. Sometimes I had to stop and sit down because I was sobbing so hard. Sometimes I was so angry I ran until I thought I my heart would stop, sometimes I would just scream over and over again, but it still felt better than doing nothing.
That black cap became a symbol to me, it is sweat stained and it's shape is gone, the buckle in the back barely closes; but that hat represents my family's rise from the ashes. It stands for the strength and the sacrifice we made loving a man who had a job that we all knew could end his life, every time he walked out that door. And it did. And I accept that.
I still wear this hat, I wore it on my run this morning.
And then I heard about your new ad campaign.
Colin Kapernick has the absolute right to protest anything he damn well pleases. I don't dispute that for one second. My father, my husband and many, many friends have all served this country and were willing to fight for his right to kneel.
But that right goes both ways. I also have a right to express my disgust at your decision to portray him as some kind of hero. What, exactly has Colin Kapernick sacrificed? His multi million dollar paycheck...? Nope, you already gave him one of those. His reputation? No, he's been fawned over by celebrities and media alike. Funny, Tim Tebow was never called courageous when he knelt.
This man, whose contempt for law enforcement fits him like a...sock, has promoted an agenda that has been proven false time and time again, in study after study. But facts don't seem to matter anymore. This man has thrown his support behind divisive anti-police groups, and donated money directly to a fugitive from justice who escaped prison after killing a police officer. I question the judgement of anyone who would put someone this controversial and divisive at the head of an advertising campaign, but it isn't my company to run.
I don't know if I'll have he heart to ever get rid of this cap, but I will tell you this, I'll never purchase another Nike product as long as I live. You got this one wrong Nike, terribly, terribly wrong.

Don't forget to boycott Converse as well since Nike owns them too. An american multi-national corp, they are now worth 30 billion plus. The USA is only a small part of their profit. Apparently they only care about Global profit and even tho they are based in Beaverton Oregon, It appears to me they couldn't care less about the American Flag. BTW, Kapernick is a punk!

In my opinion that guy deserved what he got. He must have wanted that. Glad for their safety and the safety of the people close to there that they took him out.

I bet Pat Tillman is proud he gave up that career that same career that losers kneel at to serve his country and dies in combat. The disgrace that those losers per tray as free speech is pathetic

Somehow, wearing COPS ARE PIGS socks, does not set too well with me.

I am right there with you on that one. I am not saying he does not have a right to his opinion, I just should have a right not to have to see it or here it if I did not want to, but he is milking it all the way to the bank and having his face now splashed all over the place for being a jerk. Can't stand the guy. I also think the NFL should take a stand to either have these players stand or get the hell out and find some other job. They are on the clock. They are being paid. They are on NFL's time, I think if someone had told them that at the start we would not be seeing this crap.

I stopped watching the NFL 2 years ago entirely to get away from the political crap displayed on ESPN and the players protest. Wow! Now i get to see it on comercials and everywhere i turn in the media. If anyone is watching how the filth is hammered into the news and is continuiously barked at us 24/7 and eventually people will beleive it. They are doing it in the schools and social media. If you don't take a stand against it now then there will be nothing left to stand for in just a few short years. Think about what happens when wrong becomes right and being right is not tolerated! This is just one example of something totally screwed up in this world but keep your eyes open and see how much this is really happening around you. The laws of this Great country give him this right to kneel and the same laws give you the right to decide if you like it or not and express your feelings about it by the power of the pocketbook. I DO NOT watch movies with these stars that bash the president, buy companies products that cause discourse in the public, or support any of the media stations ramming this crap down our throats. And I can honestly say I do not miss any of those things at all. God Bless The USA!
