Well said. Some of my best friends are Black and Hispanics. I don't judge someone on the color of their skin. I judge them on them as a person. I have family members I don't allow in my house. On the other hand my friend and BROTHER Ken, who just happens to be black, could move in with me if he needed too. Kapernick didnt grow up in the hood. He lived an upper middle class life. He has a right to his views, they just seem miss guided to me. Instead of not standing for the National Anthem he would be better served to work in communities to try and deal with the crimes. I totally agree the media makes things worse. I read in a back page news article where a black police officer shot a white guy for fleeing. Never made it to the TV. The media tries to make everything about race because it is profitable for them. It keeps their ratings up and sells newspapers.

Here is a very good question if anyone could answer it for me....... Now that he has all this time off from football have you seen him anywhere doing anything for this cause that he soo desperately is trying to get across? Nope! Have not seen him on the news at a youth club making a difference, not at a town hall with police discussing the issues, not even a fund raiser for youth or other blacks who have been mistreated. All his actions are for ME,ME and of course ME. Only time you see him is when he cries nobody will let me play football and I am owed some money. If anyone can be his defense attorney please show us some evidence on this forum please?

The sticking point for me I guess is that if some of these pro athletes were so truly concerned about racial justice (and yes black lives matter just as much any of Gods creation) then why would they and thru the Black Lives Matter movement not focus some effort and time and money on the massive number of Black on Black murders. There will be more killed in Chicago/Detroit this weekend than there was that spanned this whole movement. That simply makes no sense to me as to why this issue is so rarely addressed and it seems there is no effort or sense of accountability on that issue.

That being said, I found it troubling that the big man Eric Garner was gang tackled and suffocated , it seems there should be some way to say...Hey big guy...you are under arrest we can do this this easy way or the hard way and I don't think you shoot someone running from a traffic stop. But I am not in their shoes and with the amount of Black on Black murders and it seems a lot of the shootings involved someone with a weapon perhaps if I were a police officer that would have to influence my level of alertness and readiness to use a weapon. God help us all and I think it has to start at the family level and the number of broken family environments set the stage for many of our ills in society today.
Personally I think taking a stand or taking and speaking out is fine and to be admired, I just think the athletes had made a major error in judgment on the platform they have chosen.
